Great question! Currently I'm leaving things pretty open and seeing what people would like in the novel. I'm more than happy to accommodate kinks and fetishes that people are interested in so it's hard to say what that will or won't include until I get more feedback.
In regards to your second question they are avoidable, as you pursue any of the characters you'll get a good idea early on as to what they're into. If that isn't your thing then you can simply stop pursuing that character as the game is open world.
