Hey there! First of all, thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you're enjoying the game :D

You're not doing anything wrong, you did well in making me aware of this: it's most definitely a bug. Chapter 3's updates to scripts and such unfortunately introduced a few issues in the previous chapters - I thought I had caught all softlocks, but, alas, one has escaped me! 

I've looked around, and do have a hunch as to what's causing it. I'll be pushing an update later (trying my best to have it so you can take a save at this screen, and be able to load it to continue with no issue), but in the meantime you can try going back to the start of the day. Once there, select another event, then select Violet's one back. That might do it. Sorry for the trouble! 

That is weird... tell you what, I never used the itchio app before, didn't know there was one. Maybe it doesn't tell you the prices of the downloads? It does sound like you might have gone for less than 10, or even 5 bucks on the donation screen.

Glad to hear! Yeah, I'm planning to add drawings for the weight stages across all chapters - where you can basically go check on Eleanor and see her grow - and for the endings.

Ah yes, the driving update is there for the browser version (as in, you can play and read the endings), but the images still are for the paid versions. Sorry about that. It's trying to show an image because uhhh I'm lazy and haven't looked for a way to disable images on the browser version without just uploading it without the images' folder.

If it's any consolation, I am planning on adding some images in the browser version of Spirit of Hunger when CH3 comes out.

Ah, that seems to be part of it, yes, though even by fixing that, it doesn't seem to be working... I'd say the website probably made some small updates to its HTML. I'll see if I can find a solution!

Mmm, that's an interesting idea. I'm going to be honest with you, I wouldn't know where to start for that! I reckon making a whole app for it would be a little much. 

In theory you could install the userscript with Firefox on mobile, pretty sure Tampermonkey works on there. But I very much haven't tested that, I don't know if that'd work as intended.

Alright, so, don’t worry about it, that puzzle is very open-ended! It is meant to be trialed and errored over and over. There also isn’t a clear-cut successful route, just a more impactful one that also reveals something about Mary once you return to the terrace in the present. That's all I can say here without spoiling it... but! Someone asked the same question on the weight gaming forum, so you can check my spoiler free answer there.

Let me know if you end up finding that bug again, I'm sure it's nothing that can't be fixed. To be perfectly honest, the whole terrace area is basically spaghetti code - I'm in awe that you've gone through all of those permutations and never encountered any game breaking bug along the way.

Uh, I should have fixed that already, it sure is on the itchio page... are you playing the one with the drawing? You might not have the latest version. Either that or I have messed up something and didn't update the version with the drawing - just to be safe I just now re-exported and re-uploaded both of the zip files.

Scratch that, I've identified the bug! I'm uploading the fixed version as we speak.

Progress on the game has been slow, but there has been some of it! Very little compared to the full scope of this second chapter, but most of the work has gone into the gameplay loop, and in testing and making sure it works without issue.

For now, you can get one of three chapter endings by returning to the vessel :)

Also, I was sure you were wrong, but you're not - the spelling sherd instead of shard seems to be actually preferred by archeologists. How interesting! I'll be sure to fix this in the next patch

With fade to black, you are referring to the ending screens, correct? I will say, I much prefer to have them be fairly clean. I tend to place any last ending texts in the passages that come beforehand, I consider those to be part of the ending itself :)

Ah, I'm so sorry about that! That crash location leads me to believe it might have to do with how I set up the "save|load", those are only things changing in that passage. To hide them during the cutscene I set a string " ", maybe that was a bad idea lmao

Anyways, I have now removed that entirely - hopefully it should now work?

1. No, not hints, although that could've been an interesting idea! And yes, they are indeed meant to appear and disappear seemingly at random.

2. Yep, no, that makes sense, my bad, I hadn't realized that variables were caps sensitive. Again, not a coder lmao. Ending 3 should be fixed now.

3. Alright, so basically I checked the code and you need the keys for the car. Where are they? Ironically, I have no clue, genuinely no recollection of where I put them or if I even did in the first place. I'll check for them when I have a little time on my hands.

4. Damnit, I was so close! Alright, fixed that as well.

5. Yep, normal! Was to lazy to write a different text.

No, all orders will lead you the same ending! There's different text for all three choices though.

Alright so, let's get to business here: all those bugs you mentioned? GONE. I mean at least I think so, it's always hard to tell. But 1, 2, 3 and 4 were pretty straightforward, just missing lines of code and missing text, the safe should now be able to be opened and toilets won't send you to the shadow realm no more.

As for 5, no yeah, that's intended! I didn't want for the player to get stuck right away, I wanted to give people a chance to get out and search for more food beforehand. That way when they come back searching for more, it might seem as if that ending is just a natural consequence of Emily having eaten more. Does that make sense? I hope so.

The text does changes, and that's also very much intentional. You see, the game works by storing all the calories you obtain inside of a variable. That variable is then utilized to decide if the player has reached a stage of fullness or not. Some of the rooms or objects have some extra flavour text that will indeed only appear if you are on a certain stage. You can think of them as passing thoughts inside of Emily's mind.

(I should find a way to display the stages somewhere on the UI ! To be fair I don't even know if that's possible with Chapbook, I'll have to check on that.)

Let's have a lightning round for those last questions, my hands are getting tired (it's cold):

1. No, the garage doesn't have anything useful, other than a snack.
2. Likewise, you cannot reach the attic nor the cupboard. Yet!
3. 5a and 5b are basically the same as the others, you just got to try and go for them at a different stage of fullness. Ending 3 is tied to the order, you just got to be sure you're feeling full beforehand :)
4. Well, you got no internet, do you? At least in the living room you don't.
5. LMAOOO listen, alright so, hear me out, you can never be too sure, you got to have upwards of 3 toilets in every given home. I mean come on, 2 toilets? 1 tolets!!?? Big red flag. I myself have 5, just in case.

But ok, in all seriousness, thank you for all this feedback, it was actually really helpful! I do know about weight gaming, I should really make a post there, I just didn't want to get flooded with comments and feel forced to reply to every single one of them, I tend to check back on this project like every three days.

Nope, it isn't possible to go to the basement, eat everything there and not obtain that ending, not yet.
