Replayed and finished with 199 steps. A level select thingy that displays personal best as some kind of practice mode would be so sweet. I need an extended version of this.

Very funny game. Genuinely made me laugh when I stepped on the grass and the cop just E X T E N D E D at me. The bouncy dog messing with the ball was golden too. I have to admit it almost made me quit. Would love to see a version with more levels, it would make such a good rage game. Finished with 354 steps total.
Are you sure that you have interacted with the generator while holding the correct item? That level has two items, a 'briefcase' and a 'charged briefcase'. One device dispenses the briefcase and the other charges it. The first repair requires a 'charged briefcase' but subsequent repairs may either require a charged or uncharged one (randomly). Perhaps you tried repairing with a charged one when an uncharged one was required? Took a while until I realized that.
