There's a typo (scan error) in H-28. Where your implementation says: "She enjoyed meeting Carol, who was handsomer than ever and getting a divorce from her husband." is is followed by a lone floating "i" which does not appear in the source text.

Solved this over the course of three enjoyable days, each of which concluded with me going to bed and thinking about how to get to a word that's close to a word like "ACID" or "OGRE".
