Oh, 4th dress bug got fixed just as I finished the game? Lol, I struggled so much with it!
Anyhow, this game is extremely cool. Reminds me of those old flash games where you have to serve customers with an extremely tight time limit, but without the annoying time limit so you can express your creativity freely. This game is full of character and it already is very polished!
I hope to see burlap being actually used in this game apart from being a sandbox material, because it is a fascinating piece of history. Either your funds being way too tight, or customer not having enough money, I am sure this can be implemented.
Too bad it got way too mainstream for it's own good. Anyhow, I think I 100% this game, here are some words:
I love that intro beat. 135bpm with a nice crunchy kick - what's there not to love?
"25 years without a...." was funny! I love that OG sentence mixing, reminded me of those old Gmod animations with TF2 characters.
I also like that Kevin MacLeod cover. It's slightly imperfect in note lengths, and thus sounds kinda uncanny, which is perfect.
Seeing "Music Weird" in files made me think that there is a third ending, but upon further inspection it turns out that it's just a heavily distorted layer for the default soundtrack. Although, I must admit, I really like how it's shifting in pitch constantly, and I would love to hear a version without distortion, but with all of the other weirdness still intact.
Also, there's like a random track in the bgm folder? Not sure if it was supposed to be there, but why not, it sounds really cool.
I also love the courtroom scenes, and I absolutely enjoyed the fact that there is a good ending.
Sequence break! There are 2 I found. One with a needle, where you can save up some money with a feather, and skip damaging Tyler with it, but he'll receive the damage anyway. The other one is with the scissors, where you can hit Harvey only once, but he'll receive a second cut automagically.
Also, fun fact, half of Harvey's sprites are called Tyler. He becomes Harvey right after the hammer, hence the name switch up in the previous bullet point.
It's also cool that there are dev soundbites in the files. It's just, idk, cute? Friendly? Homely?
Ending jumpscare really caught me offguard!
On a different note, I couldn't find the money variable through cheat engine, do with this info what you will.
What I did not like though was shoddy audio engineering. Most sound effects have a really harsh, untamed 15kHz+ range, which hurts my ears significantly. While I know that most people won't even notice it, it's a good practice to either oversample or high cut your sounds.
Also, hammers are quite deadly. Weird how you can still receive a good ending after breaking Harvey's ribs.
Why is there a foghorn sfx if it's never used? Huge blunder, it should have been in the game.
