Seconding that, i haven't tried every character yet but the boss fights and small new areas were rather interesting as well. The art change is pretty sweet as well and as for the recipe the slime character really helped a ton, there's a few recipes i would have never considered that you needed cooked food to make for example before the slime character. 
Not a game i had expected an actual update for but this is really nice, thanks for "half recipes" you get automaticaly when talking to npcs too, Slippery, really helped not missing obvious stuff !

Had a lot of fun with the actual rpg part of the game, crafting is where it got so much more annoying to me however, with several of the late crafting recipes i could just not figure out at all desptie the rhymes
