I think the mechanics were a pretty cool idea but unfortunately the UI and mechanics explanation left a bit to be desired. I felt like the majority of the puzzling within the game was figuring out what the game wanted me to do or how the death conditions worked rather than finding creative paths with the slicing stuff - which also had some odd cases and didn't quite describe when I could or couldn't do a slice (not sure if that was design intentional or a glitch). I could definitely see this be a really cool set of puzzles if it had some more time to bake though :D
This game must've taken a lot of work! There were a few puzzles where I felt like some of the time wasn't always spent on the actual puzzle-solving but some of the sort of sub-tasks (for example, the RGB string, which was a little hard to read). I think the reason a game like Portal can get away with making you execute some of its subtasks is that the crux of the game is the physics, while here the puzzles sort of exist in a independent context, so once you for example solve the square/circle puzzle it's just an issue of playing it until you build the muscle memory to get to 20.
I haven't gotten to the universal drive yet admittedly, maybe i'll save it for a rainy day :)
The mechanics were very fun and creative and the atmosphere was on point! Feel like there's some balancing/pacing things that would need to be addressed for higher scaling unless i didnt play enough? with higher stats there didn't seem to be more fish spawning and i'm not sure if this was intentional but even without fully encircling some of the fish you can catach even the big skeleton one just by looping while inside of it, and then your health resets after you catch it
I feel like with some fine-tuning and more informative design this could definitely be a pretty addictive game! IMO most of my frusturations came with not understanding what exactly everything on screen meant (for example, it took me a bit long to figure out the game over condition)
The upgrades were very creative, one of my favorite parts
