Since you're using the latest versions and downloaded the plugin from the Joiplay website, that might be part of the issue. I remember that I used to download the plugins from the app itself, through Settings > Plugins, and that worked better for me.
I’d recommend trying that method, uninstall your current plugin first, then reinstall it directly from inside the app.
If that still doesn’t work, you could also try installing an older version of the Ren'Py plugin. Some devices just work more smoothly with previous builds.
And is there any crash logs text thing? If yes, please send it.
