I think if I hold up and left, down and left, or down and right it fails to dash... Let me check... Yeah that's the case, on my machine at least. I ended up learning to momentarily lift my fingers off the keyboard when dashing.

Nah, made it to 10 but died on the home stretch and that was my lot. I find doing horizontal jumps over spikes pretty hard, maybe because the camera follows the character quite aggressively and it's hard to see where a safe stopping position is. Or maybe I just need to git gud, either way, nice little game, keep it up!
Just played the first few levels and it feels great, I really like the way the dash mechanic is introduced. I just died like 4 times on the next level until I worked out that the dash doesn't follow the direction of the character, glad I watched the trailer!
EDIT
Got to level 9, some thoughts:
It can feel a bit unfair when the collision detection pops you out from being where you want to be back into a chasm. Maybe you could give it a bit more leeway, so if the character is more than 50% in an open space at the end of the dash they get dropped in that space?
On top of that, maybe some checkpoints? Don't know if they show up later. I can only assume the levels are going to get longer and more challenging, and I just rage quit on 9, some midway checkpoints at least would be something to aim for and keep me going.
Now I've written this I want to see if I can beat it...
