You are right here that they were just as surprised as mc. Also, mc does think about finding a weapon but there wasn't anything nearby that could be used as one (which was for everyone's benefit in the end).

Thank you for your comment! The demo is mostly for showing players the various characters in Shroudfall Cove. The full release will definitely have more character interactions and you'll get to know them all better (and hopefully your opinions may change for some of them!)
Since this was for a game jam, player options were minimal to save time on branching narratives but we will implement more options in the coming updates.

Hello, thank you so much for your feedback! Since this is the first time we were working with Ren'Py, we had a lot of figuring out to do, but for the full game we do plan on having more movement and animations so the screen doesn't look too static. Since it's a slow-burn story, the pace for the demo might be somewhat slow, but we're hoping that the world we've built intrigues players enough to stick around and experience the full game!
