I have the exact same issue on both Firefox and Chrome. Pretty annoying, like you said.

Ironically I had to inspect element to delete the cheater overlay. 

Awesome, loved it. I especially loved the gag of picking up 0.5 of a gem for the first time. Great game, thank you ELAiNE and George!
