That NPC is definitely working for the enemy—I can’t even attack while talking to him LOL.
Overall, it was a fun game!
Thanks for the feedback! I originally designed the keyboard controls to feel a bit like typing. F and J are where your index fingers naturally rest, so your middle fingers would naturally be on E and I for the other controls, while Space is used for the special move.
I’m also considering developing it into a more complete version, since the final look and feel turned out quite different from what I originally imagined 😂
The dual countdown mechanic is really interesting—one counts down through colors, while the other counts down the number of inputs with only one second between each. It really puts both your reflexes and memory to the test! Though the F5 prompt got me—I pressed it and ended up refreshing the whole page 😂
Thanks for the feedback! When I came up with the idea, I wanted to avoid interpreting the theme too literally and explore a different way of expressing it. The puppet’s five strings represent its life. Each time a string breaks, its remaining life counts down from five toward zero, and when all the strings are gone, the puppet dies. This countdown also functions as the game’s health system. That said, I understand that I could have communicated this connection more clearly in the game.
