For me all I had to do was take a shower, or go rest, then when my character got out I could talk to them again. Or are you talking about once you've filled out everybody's hearts? I filled out all the hearts I could then stuff said not yet implemented or were greyed out again, then stopped playing instead of resting or trying to shower or anything.
