some of the instructions in the beginning are cut off, i think you need to go into the itch page and change the size of the page. and it might be good to enable full screen.

im playing this by myself so it's a little hard to make proper comments, but i like how the players move around! the spinning is satisfying to me for some reason. the concept is also simple but good. reminds me of old 2 player flash games like fire boy and water girl.

some more art assets could definitely be added, some visible goals would be nice. a scoreboard could also be nice, but i'm not sure how difficult that would be to implement.

love this concept! being able to explore different little worlds is so cute.
some notes:
-i'm not sure if the fishing mini game is working? i tried pressing e on top of the fish but nothing happened. i think the instructions on that one could be a bit more clear too.
-during the maze world, the grub keeps getting stuck at the dead ends of the maze. it might be better to turn it into a collectable rather than pushing it around. i think the maze should be difficult enough on its own.

the art and concept is fantastic! a few notes: i would either get rid of the side table in the very beginning or make it interact-able, i got a little thrown off that i couldn't jump on it. it also might be helpful to add a double jump! some of these jumps need a big running start to make. it's possible that could make it too easy though, so try it out only if you have the time!

this is also a huge nitpick since i don't know how hard this would be to change, but i noticed if you turn left right as the first enemy spawns, it spawns on the right side which blocks you from going anywhere without dying.

great job guys :D

this is really cool! just a few things: i noticed that the enemies don't kill the player when they touch. If it's supposed to take multiple attacks to kill the player, then a health bar could be helpful (not sure how hard that would be to implement tho.) Also, some of the platform art is glitching with the sprite behind it. This is a nitpick but it might be nice to know for future reference, the player sprite is very detailed (which is really cool!) but since it's so small on the screen it's hard to appreciate the details!

the character designs are so cute! the only thing i'll say is that I haven't been able to finish the first level, because when I get to the end and turn left to grab the star, the ghost is able to come up through the floor and easily kill me. I think you just might want to avoid having the player having to turn left for the parkour. other than that, i like your jump mechanics! it took a little bit to get used to but it feels nice and floaty.

This is such a sad concept, but you adapted it into a game really well. Maybe I haven't played it enough to find it, but it makes sense that there's no "happy" ending. Also, make sure you go into the game settings and allow scrollbars! there's a point where you can't see the stats because you can't scroll down.

love this idea

It could be nice to make it so that you can't pick a path until the text is done scrolling, I'm not sure how difficult that might be though. You would probably have to time how long it takes for the text to scroll and then add a timer to the choice buttons.

I like how you can choose to read a little bit more into things before continuing on with the story. It is very well written too.  It might be helpful to split some of the text into separate passages for ease of reading.

The way that you did the texting sequence was so well done. I also love the use of the word "proceed", it sounds almost sterile. Very fitting for the environment we're in.

FROG!

I love the art and the concept! My only problem is how fast the player moves and how much it slides around. It makes it very hard to get onto the small platforms and I accidentally launched myself off the edge a few times lol. Checkpoints could also be helpful! Or maybe let you keep the gems you got even if you die. Other than that, great job!

The art and concept is really cute! My only problem is with how fast you can get with the arrow keys, it makes it hard to try and stay a steady speed but that may be the point lol. Great job!

I love the premise of the game and the level design. The colors and textures you used made it feel really ominous and creepy. It did take me a bit to realize that you're supposed to pass through the black barriers so I think that could be more clear.

I'm impressed by how many levels you got done! The player and enemy designs are so cute and I love how you integrated the enemies into the game. My only problem was with the gravity mechanics. Trying to get on the small platforms is very hard since the player slides around a lot. Other than that its a really fun game!

This game is so fleshed out for only having a few weeks! the level and character design is great. I'd say it would help if the level had checkpoints since its so long. Double jumping would also be helpful, especially to get over the tall skinny barrier. I ended up jumping to my death a few times because of that one. Other than that, amazing job! :3

-the writing is very well done!

-i enjoy the text customization, but the foggy transition between each passage hurts my eyes a little bit. maybe shorten the duration if possible?

-how many endings are there? it seems like they're all very similar but there could be a 'good' ending i just can't find
