Edit: Steam page is now live lol

Thanks so much, that's super nice to hear. Would be slick if it would actually be a big thing once I'm done with everything (also Balatro was an inspiration for this. It was just "take a well knows real life game and make it roguelike", but it was Balatro lol). Also multipliers and stuff will happen 👀 Already working on improving the combo system for that. And guess what, it'll have a horror story haha

Thanks a lot, good thing the steam page goes live soon 😂 Will let you know once it's online ^-^

Will definitely look into things that make it a little bit easier, while not making it too easy for players who are more skilled at billiard lol This may also include special types of balls that help you or upgradable stats, items, stuff like that. Although it gets better with more practice, even though I do not expect anyone at the moment to spend as much time playing this as I did while making it haha

Thanks, really nice to hear that you'll keep playing, probably means I did something right :'D

(1 edit)

Thanks ^-^ There actually is music here but it needs to spawn in the shop. I'll probably let one of them have a guaranteed spawn in the first round so it's not up to chance if you have music or not. And probably tone down the buzzing a tiny little bit lol

Yess, it's basically pool but with the goal of having some simple roguelike elements. Having special balls that do their stuff with potential fancy combos, earning money, spending it and so on. Don't want to chance the whole concept of pool but definitely want to add more abilities for the balls and possibly more other items to the shop. There are lots of ideas but not enough time to make a lot for the submission.

Oh and for the steam page, it is working. Buut the steam page is not online yet so it just directs you to the main page 😅 Valve is currently reviewing the page, I hope for it to go online in a few days. Will let you know once it's there

Edit: Steam page is now online lol

Glad to hear that the more arcade-y approach is appreciated :D I don't want to make things over complicated with this. I totally see that it's not easy to see potential builds here. There are some but it's not clear until you see them happen. Will absolutely look into making stuff like that more clear

Thanks! You description of the ball feeling heavy is actually very useful. I think I can work very well with that to improve the overall feel of it a bit more. Will definitely flesh things out, add more stuff, also with even more impact and all

Thanks a lot, super nice to hear ^-^

Thanks, neither am I lol (even though playing this for a week now while making it made be much better at it than before). I kinda want to look into a bit more stuff that helps make it a little tiny bit easier though. And yess there definitely are are few fun and interesting plays you can do with the abilities, still I want to do even more with this though. Also glad to hear that the default camera angle works best ^-^

Thanks ^-^
Yes, I definitely want to look further into making abilities that can work better together. There already are a few that can work together quite nicely but not at all to a degree I'd like it to be. You comment also gave me an idea to further improve the combo system with multipliers, I think that's gonna be a fun addition

Thanks, I wish I could've spent all 10 days on it, only found out about the game when it was already running for I believe one day and wasn't able to spend about the last 24 hours on it 😅 But yess, taking part at game jams quite regularly, at some point you get a hang of how to make things a bit faster. Code is a mess but for game jams I really don't care lol

Thanks! It is ment to look like that, yes, just the textures are not quite on point there. They are less blurred and more pixelated, lighting also has a few bugs but all in all it still looks mostly as it should 😆

Hm I see. That should have been in later rounds on theory. Everything gets a bit more expensive over time, purchasing the right balls in the beginning is already a bit important. Balls costing more than they get you can definitely happen, sometimes, with abilities, also in very early rounds. They stay for five rounds so they'll make you money up to five times

Any chance you can give me an example of the hanky bounces? I doubt I can do much there cause it's the Unity physics engine that likely causes this but better still checking on it. Also what do you find weird about the economy?

That is very sad to hear that the game is not for you and you're not willing to read the tutorial to understand it. However I won't change the whole identity of it, which includes more difficult controls and some challenging gameplay because of that. It is meant to be a game where you need to get into a little bit and learn the control scheme. But I still thank you for your feedback, some adjustments will definitely happen but not as extreme as your suggestions. That would then be a completely different game 😂

You can do exactly that by enabling the simple controls in the settings. First tutorial also tells you that this exists

Super polished game, graphics are peak. Just looks really nice and has so much impact. Really well done

Uhh that's a nice one, really like the artstyle (saw the concept arts on Discord so I was like "ohhh it's this one!)

Super fun game. I'm really bad at card games like those but this one is simple and easy enough. Love that it's not overcomplicated lol Could spend quite a lot of time here lol

Super funny, did some really cursed stuff lol

Super simple game but that makes it kinda fun. I'd totally see this as a fun mobile game. It's already in portrait mode in the browser so easy 😂

This is a lot of fun! The impact the bananas have on hits feels really nice and makes this kinda addicting lol

This one is super good! Fun gameplay, art looks great and feels very polished. Banger game

Got to 52300 points. Then enemies stopped spawning. I think they where scared of my raw power at this point 😂

Settings help a lot with that. Inverting the horizontal or vertical axis can definitely help. And for the worst case there's the simpler controls setting that make controlling muuch more easy to play. But yes, it's definitely meant to be a more challenging type of game

Thanks! And that's absolutely fine, it's meant to be somewhat difficult to get used to and into it, even though someone could skip this with the simple controls settings 😂

Super nice game! Very well executed and polished

The whole feel of the game is really nice. Kinda love the wobbly character lol Just took me a few tried to get the timing right for deflecting, my reflexes definitely didn't kick in fast enough sometimes 😂

Did that and made sure to have the game in focus but didn't work. However, after loading it up again now for another try worked. Plays very nice!

Absolute cinema intro. Also really interesting fishing system. My memory is super bad, buuut I managed it somehow lol

Ngl I really like this combat system. That's kinda fun

Love this cured feeling this has, ngl

Really not sure if it's me but it seems like that nothing is happening when I press A or D. But letting go of the other, this does work 😂 But seems like the concept is a really nice thing

Very fun mechanic with the throwing. Makes for a unique platformer. Reminds me a little bit of this one two player penguin platformer. Please don't ask me how it was called though, but it's a good thing lol

Super polished game, really like this. Gameplay is simple, easy to understand and visuals are very nice

This is how I feel in my job every day lol

Super nice one, love those types of games

Good doggo. Would give it office dog of the month every month

This is my motto when making games
