Yeah, Adult Visual Novel devs whom have NSFW content at times are struggling with the payment processors.
With making money from the game, what I'd recommend is set up your own Patreon account for the game's development, for this and all your possible future games going forward.  f95zone will help give your game more exposure & marketing (along with itch), and those who wish to subscribe and help contribute/give you tips for development will sub to your patreon.

My advice is to start with that combination first (itch, f95zone, Patreon) with earning possible income from itch.io & Patreon, and when you think you have substantial content in your game (perhaps that is now.  I wouldn't know.  But just make sure there's no complaints from players saying there's too little conent), enough to release on Steam, then start preparing to release on Steam.
This part with Steam is where you (and several AVN devs) will likely find hurdles in terms of those bitchy payment processors where there is the most headache.
Some devs manage to get their NSFW games approved by Steam easier, while others may struggle.  Fingers crossed you're in the former.

The game has me interested but I'll most likely  wait for the NSFW version to get released to play.
Some stuff for you to consider:

1) With the NSFW version, you'll definitely need to age up all the characters to be 18+, and say explicitly in a notice (before starting the game) that all characters in it are over 18, and things happening in game is fiction & does not depict real life etc etc (all obvious, but the usual safety net, so you don't get in trouble with law like using underage characters etc)

2) Would you be willing to release the full game to be able to be downloaded so it can be played in off-line?  Couple of reasons for this; one for preservation, in case if there's unfortunate  circumstance of site getting taken down, and two, not everyone can always play games with internet connection (and personally, I prefer downloading the game and playing it offline, myself).

3) itch.io you're using is good, but have you considered using other website such as f95zone?  Releasing your game on f95zone I think would expand your game's reach much further I think.

Have this website bookmarked, so I'll frequently keep tabs on how it's going and when NSFW version releases.
