YOUR SUFFERING IS OVER

So, I will preface this with the fact that these issues seemed to resolve upon restart and I did grab a copy of the log file (not sure if it was too late, though), but I was experiencing two bugs - the cabin scene (just after Alex has a panic attack), and the first meeting in Mayhew's tower.
For the cabin - despite multiple attempts - keeping it serious with Nick and Connor, turning off that one little setting that would indicate a certain interest, etc., and selecting a majority of the vampire influence settings (playing as wary but open minded, still getting vampire influence specific dialogue it would seem) - Alex was always greeted by Connor when he wakes up. Since this was a file where I want to try and romance Mayhew, the aim is to have Seth there when Alex wakes up instead. I was planning to keep trying different combinations, but I remembered the old 'turn it on and off again' method to fix things and that did resolve them.
The second one, I only noticed because of the first (I realised it was an additional oddity in all the skipping). Although I was selecting the options of 'I'll help you with this, but I can't promise more than that', and, 'I may in time' (in response to Mayhew asking if Alex trusts him), Mayhew told Alex to go home - and Alex woke up at the tower the next morning with Paolo instead of at his flat with Maxine.
Again, these issues did resolve when I restarted the game, so I'm assuming the issue was local/session based rather than a general issue in the code, but it couldn't hurt to be informative.
Bradley is not an RO, nor will he be in future. There are six romance options throughout the Superstition series - the only ones that you can specifically pursue in Season 1 are Sydero and Chris, but this may change in the rewrite. The remaining four are spoilers; but it's an even ratio of guys and gals.
Just finished the demo, and it was a delight! Things flowed well, and though sentences did run on a bit at times, I was enjoying myself too much to notice more often than not XD
I'm including a list of minor typos I noticed as I went through, just to hopefully help out!
- It’s hard to believe you’re doing this. You’re going to be working for yourself. Picking your clients, culminating your image.
The phrase is 'cultivating your image', so I'm assuming this is a typo that got autocorrected or something similar.
- Before he can answer, someone pushes past you roughly, causing you to hit your side against a nearby seat. Markus quickly steps in front of you protectively. You’re unsure of the look that Markus gives the person but it was enough to stop them in their tracks. Maybe they thought Markus looked far to nice to be rude to.
This whole paragraph takes place before M tells you their name, so it was a bit early for that.
- I nod softly, not really wanting the book or to be here any longer. I take it without saying another word."
This is the first option when parting ways with M and they give you their book; there's a " when no dialogue has occurred.
- Cam nods, the bus hissing at its stop allowing you two to clamor on.
I'm assuming this is meant to be 'climb' or 'clamber', and not 'a group of noisy people shouting'.
Personally, I very much enjoyed the ability to hate them, to hit them, etc., and then let them live, because like. Nobody would expect you to forgive someone who cut off your arm.
It's one of those things where I find the 'I hate your guts and in any other circumstance I wouldn't tolerate you' dynamic so interesting. But other things matter more to my MC in this case, and they don't want to just be the big scary murderer.
I'll be honest. I don't do very well with horror, especially of the eldritch and cosmic varieties. It's one of those things for me. So I might get my own visit from Glitch tonight. But also - I took a chance on this story, and it was worth the risk. The horror wasn't too strong or intrusive, it built up naturally, and it was, well, good. The story flows incredibly well, and I'm frankly inspired by what you've done here. Nothing was out of place. And, well. I might not make it to the end of this ride, for my own sake - but I'm very eager to see where it goes.
I think all the Blackrunners are in some way. Mylo has this 'super-genius' talent, and he doesn't understand the purpose of hierarchies, which is a common trait you can see in autistic kids. Blackrunners have their mutations, the things that mark them as different as children... until they grow up. Like how an autistic person might learn to mask it when they get older. And apparently they usually excel in one of the Four over the others.
Nitro admittedly doesn't quite fit into the theory for me but also him having ESP - having psychometry - certainly is something different.
The player has the ability to unlock 'inclinations', by trying out different things and finding themselves in different situations. All NPCs have their own inclinations, which will affect their decision-making and how the game makes them act (e.g., I have only ever had Forward NPCs accept a proposition if you approach them in the showers).
The new update has also just released and has a few different things you can choose as turn-ons and turn-offs (I haven't explored them yet myself), so that's something to be looking at.
