the movement feels awesome!! i can tell you're a celeste player lol (correct me if i'm wrong)

i also love the dante's inferno inspiration, and the music is very charming.

the only feedback i have is to maybe make the levels slightly shorter, for an arcadey game like this they felt a bit long. additionally on the second floor, it was slightly unclear sometimes whether an arrow was spawning or if it was just wind, so maybe confine the wind to inside of the box.

other than that, a really charming little game! great work!

i see, that makes sense. i will probably add your suggestion in an update, that sounds like it would make it flow better.

thank you so much!! i'm happy to hear that, one of my main goals was to make a platformer with unique movement. i was planning to have the crystals interact with the shadow clones in some way, but couldn't figure it out in time. hopefully in a future update!

sorry to hear about the audio! can i ask what was happening with it? oftentimes the music and sfx will lag if graphics acceleration is off on your browser.

thank you for the feedback!

i'm sorry to hear that, i've been hearing this a lot - i'm planning to make a better tutorial in the future!

thank you!! it was my first time doing random generation, and it was a headache, but i had fun with it ^_^

thank you so much, that's super kind <3 i hope i can make the tutorial less confusing in a later update loll

thank you!! i've been hearing this a lot (start is frustrating/hard then it gets fun), and it's kind of what i'm aiming for, as i like games with a high skill floor - however i did want to ask, was there anything that would have made it less frustrating to start out with?

thank you for the feedback!! i was struggling to figure out how to make the controls more intuitive, i eventually just gave up and made a shoddy tutorial as it was 9 am lol. i'll hopefully be able to clean them up in a future update.

i would love to expand on the movement tbh, i love movement platformers and games that lend themselves well to speedrunning

i'm really glad to hear that!!! i was actually aiming for something that had a higher skill floor and higher skill ceiling than a typical game of this scale. thank you for the feedback! i'll work on fixing fullscreen and some other bugs in a post-jam update ^^

thank you so much!!! yeah, the music is super awesome!! our composer https://hoshiyn.itch.io/ did a really amazing job.

i honestly think i may have made it too hard...

when i'm testing a game, i frequently think "wow, this is really easy, i should buff it" without taking into account the fact that of course it's going to be easy if i'm playing it for 4 days straight lol. next time i'll for sure try to get some playtesters who have never played it before to give me difficulty feedback.

thank you for the kind words!!

thanks for the feedback!! what didn't feel good specifically to you? i'm planning to do another update after the jam and would love to make the game feel better ^_^

thank you so much for the feedback!!! i agree, i'd love to add more icons and clear ui elements. a lot of the art was done last minute, and we didn't have time to finish everything unfortunately :( but i am planning a post-jam update!

awesome game! the intro sequence is funny and creative, and i loved all of the music! the piano and acoustic guitar in the first level's song are really pretty. i found myself in the void outside of a room a couple of times, but i was able to get back in by going through the door from the opposite side. visuals look good, i love the player sprite. amazing work!

thank you!! yeah of course, let me check out your game

tysm for the feedback! will definitely improve the controls and pacing after the jam is over. i loved your game btw ^^

thank you so much for the detailed feedback! it's super helpful ^^

yeah, the wizard tower is just barely possible without the running shoes, i definitely need to nerf it after the jam is over lol. as well as adding a pause menu instead of the game just closed when you press ESC. regarding the skip level button, thank you for letting me know! i just uploaded a patch that i believe fixes the skipping. lastly, yeah the space worm model has some weird geometry that can be tricky to get past. thank you for letting me know, i'll fix everything that isn't game-breaking after the jam once it's allowed :)

really fun and satisfying mechanics! the aesthetic is really cohesive and appealing, and the puzzles are great. only suggestions would be to let the player move faster, and to auto-restart since holding r to restart doesn't really add anything other than wait time.

thank you for the feedback! yeah, i unfortunately ran out of time to work on the truck's physics more :( planning to polish that and some other things in an update after the jam ^^ and yeah i'm happy to check out your game!

i really enjoyed the environment and aesthetic, and the story was intriguing. the granny model is great, it's quite unsettling. ran into a couple of bugs- you can get stuck on geometry in the kitchen, and granny's pathfinding can break and run into a wall in the sewer. other than that, great job!

really interesting idea, i enjoyed the gameplay a lot and it's quite unique. my only complaint is that for a rhythm game, the music doesn't seem to affect the gameplay much if at all. otherwise great job!

this is really cool!! the cutscene at the end was super well done. you got me really intrigued by a world in such a short amount of time. i have so many questions about what was going on, but that's a good thing. well done! as someone else said, would love to see it expanded

the atmopshere, writing, and graphics are all absolutely phenomenal. i would give it 10 stars for presentation if i could. this is seriously insanely impressive for such a short time period. i loved the cinematic intro, it was really intriguing and immediately made me want to play the game. even the game page looks super polished and well done. the use of the theme is also really cool. i almost made a game centered around a lighthouse myself lol.

i do agree with the other reviews as far as gameplay goes- it isn't immediately clear where you're supposed to bring the ships. i'm guessing potentially the crate's cargo color corresponds to the color you bring it to? i'm not sure though, as my game also always froze after the first ship was saved and getting an upgrade. this has insane potential though, the presentation really blew me away. super impressive stuff!

thank you! hopefully the dialogue wasn't too forced, i wrote it all in like 15 minutes at 2 am lmao

thank you, the art is so awesome!! my friend did a wonderful job. yeah i noticed that the web version broke some of the text characters (*, -, :), and if you die while dialogue is happening it makes the next view lines overlap with it and turn into gibberish lol. i'm glad you had a good time with it!

i'm really glad that the difficulty is at a good level for a lot of people. i was worried that it was a bit too hard, but it seems that the level difficulty itself is good and that i just need to fix some frustrating bugs and adding skipping dialogue. thanks for the feedback!!

tysm!! i'm proud of the concept, it's such a silly thing that i didn't expect to work too well gameplay-wise but i ended up liking how it put a twist on the platforming. cheers!

thank you!! yeah, it realllyy needs checkpoints and dialogue skip, as well as some other quality of life and bug fixes. i'm sad i ran out of time to fix everything, but thank you for the kind words :]

the fishing mechanic has so much depth and is really enjoyable! i love how you can raise and lower the hook to try to get bigger fish (although i don't know if catching bigger fish matters lol). the presentation and graphics are also really nice, i love the stylized look you have! it's very cozy yet still eye-catching, and it all comes together very well. awesome work!

i love the vibes here! i really really enjoy the music, and the cat talking sound is cool. really cool cozy little experience.

this is amazing! can't believe it was done in two days. really cool take on the isolation theme, i love how the civilian and military channels overlay on each other and you have to isolate the military channel. i also enjoyed just listening to some of the civilian channels lol. super well done, the presentation is awesome as well

really cool atmosphere and presentation! i enjoyed the story bits as well. there's just enough urgency due to the fire and monsters, and i really like the graphics. nice job!!

the level of polish for only two days is insane!! really cool take on the theme, the game feels buttery smooth to control, charming art and sfx, and a fun gameplay loop! top marks ^^

thank you so much!! i really appreciate the feedback. yeah the goat is so cute, my friend https://mangoscones.itch.io/ made the goat and all other sprites, she did a wonderful job. and your point about the controls is likely not a skill issue, i ran out of time to add coyote time and other leniency mechanics :c but i'm glad you enjoyed!! thanks again

everything about this except for a small hiccup is amazing. i love the concept, theme, presentation, and controls. the game feels very polished and high-stakes. really gives the feeling of threading the needle. however, i played for almost 30 minutes with no sign of the end, which gets a little tiring for a game with little gameplay variation. i eventually hit a mine and didn't want to play through 30+ minutes of the same again without knowing how long it would take to reach the end. i had a fun time with this though!

really cool concept, i love the little bubble guy and the level design is really fun!!

(1 edit)

completely understandable, having to sit through the cutscene every time during testing was driving me crazy too lol. i unfortunately ran out of time to fix it, but i will add that once i expand the game after the jam! thanks for the feedback!!
