No, it's not you. I need to spell fire correctly. I was trying to ask, Are you going to add pixel art for the fire as well. I really liked the enemy art though.

Yes, this is fun. I had a bad time aiming with the support tank. Plus, I like the first cut scene and the transition animation. The story seemed solid.

Yes, thank you for trying it and I am glad it worked. I wanted to try out the 3rd person camera. I am having an active problem figuring out why the guard animation is not attacking. The player can attack and an older build of the guard can attack but, this one is broken. I had to take some items out of the scene for the inventory. I now notice I don't have any controls displayed anywhere, that is my bad. Thank you for the feedback.

The mech movement was great. I only had an issue around the tower where a small ledge gave me the landing animation. This game reminds me of Mech Assault I played a long time ago. I am bad at aiming though and needed to run everywhere for more ammo.

I like it so far. The controls and falling are just smooth enough for you to grab ice creams right next to rocks without touching the rock.

I would like to see your improvements throughout the game jam but the devlog link isn't working right now. I would like to ask what

are your next steps with the game? What are you going to do next?

I made it to night 4. This is a fun game. I lost in night 3 and had to try again. I wonder if you are going to add pixel art for the first as well?

I really enjoyed Endless Strikes. I don't normally play endless runner types but, this felt real good. I think it may just be a web browser thing but, the main screen buttons text was a bit small. Other than that the game seemed to take awhile to load once you selected your character and started the game. I loved the art style too, super fluid.

I'm sorry about the pointer. I had one with the first person camera and need to add it back. I added an offset to the camera to zoom in on the right side so we can see those coins. I will see about adding a pick all radius of item type to make picking up multiple items easier. Thank you for trying out my game, your feedback is very appreciated.

(1 edit)

I really enjoyed playing Charcoal. I started with the tutorial and started playing once I got the city building understood. I started a fresh game and played for about 2 hours until a storm hit and knocked out the power.  This game reminds me of an old zombie web based game I used to play. It's not around anymore but, man this was fun. Please keep working on this!!

Edit: I tried to play this in Linux but, it wouldn't let me run it so I just downloaded the windows version and ran it under WINE. I think we may have had opposite problems with our uploads. I didn't see a .PCK file in the Linux version and that may have been why I couldn't run it.

Thank you so much for trying out Agency. I have re-uploaded the project. I have been trying all day to cut down the file size. I hope it runs now that I have added the PCK.

I am currently improving Agency for the Improve your Game Jam 45 and will be improving it throughout July full time.

I would say you need to move the weapons and things over the core or at least make it to where we can place them around the core.  I bought a few things but they appeared off screen where I needed to zoom out to see them. They were all stacked on top of each other and the enemies avoided the core to attack the weapons in the corner.

1) I made it to the guardian where you learn Stun.

I thought this was going to be just a novel-type game

until I got to unlock spells and do a bit of turn-based combat.

I felt like there was a ton of story upfront which could

have fit nicely in-between the turn-based style combat or like

when the witch was talking to robo-cat about the spells.

2) My hack v1 was maxed before I did my first fight which left me feeling

as if I over powered it as well as the hack v2 once I got that one unlocked.

3) I personally find the idle mechanic a hit or miss,

with me, I am into the more action side of games. As in, if I fight a

bunch of bots and gain nothing but, can idle to max it would

drag the game down for me. Maybe if the cost per upgrade or mana

regenerated was less it wouldn't encourage idling for an

opponent that isn't as strong.

4) I would spread out the story / dialogue out over the spell unlock

scene and the combat scene since it is turn based and not

a time based combat. I would also look into the mana

regeneration and the cost per upgrade. In which you could

get a small icon cutout for the person talking and

pull in some of the story while idling.

I hope my input is helpful and I hope to see this in the next Jam.

I would say so. I have seen multiple submissions from one dev before.

I heard the mushroom fight was hard and when I got to it, I noticed the slime was able to regenerate MP by standing near the blue spot. I spammed that fireball and kept near the blue pool to put that mushroom down. I like this, Good luck fixing the error you had with the disappearing objects.

Fun: I was lost in a dark room with a book I had to read. I played this the moment I saw the update and played for about 40 mins. I really liked the spell rotation and weaving while you dodge fireballs.

Visuals: I like the 3D environment with the 2D characters. It gives me the feeling of Paper Mario from back in the day. The only part I did have an issue with was knowing where the floating object was at. Some areas can be really dark and the object can get stuck on the wall or in the air.

User Interface:  The pause menu could be opened by pressing Esc but, not closed. This got a bit confusing to me since I can Tab the spell book open and closed.  I wonder if the rock objects you float are suppose to be able to fall into the background? I did need to run back and pick up more once I learned that new spell (no spoilers).

Audio:  I felt like the Audio was great and did change when I got engaged with the other creatures. The spell discharge sound also helps with knowing when I casted a spell.

Overall:  I have to be fair and say this game needs more lighting or at least an outline for the floating object. At first I thought I was stuck in the Title menu until I moved around. Once I got started with that book I was in deep trying things out before I learned anything. I read the DevLog and you got to stick around for the other Improve Jams. I like the concept of weaving spells while being able to move/dodge. This was worth the wait.

I was able to play it now.

When I download it, a message pops up saying I don't have an application that can open it.

I downloaded this file but, was unable to open it. Maybe it is missing something?

When you press R to Restart it doesn't do anything while your in the First Person Shooter game.
I don't think I have played a game that went from 2D to 3D like this yet. It is very fun play the side scroller as well.

I have a hard time managing my time with things. I joined to add more(Player movement and functions) to my game "Bell Tones".
I submitted it in another game jam where we only had 3 days to make something and wanted to add more to it.
I hope you are able to add more to your game. Good Luck.

The Discord link says it is invalid. Would you be willing to post another link?

Does anyone have a link to the Discord?

I clicked the link for Discord but, I was unable to join.

I was getting worried about the shovel not hitting. I wonder what this game would look like if continued. I really like it.

I thought the music was a bit loud but I liked it.

I started playing and didn't think I was going to play for so long. I really had fun playing this. Sometimes my zombies would get stuck because there was a zombie in between them so they couldn't merge. I just had to select that one and move it but, found out I could make them all merge together. They would then separate on their own leaving a bunch of 100 level/HP zombies behind.

I had a huge horde and attacked a castle and fort at the same time and froze my game. I should take it slow next time. I don't know what I would suggest to improve and I didn't see anything to call out as an issue. This hit a spot with me and I like it.

I like the art and the pressure mounted when the knight told me getting one wrong give HIM a point?! I couldn't let that knight take my books.

I had an issue with the explosion's hit box taking me out. I at least got to score 12 and it got tough on that little platform.
