Hi there, i have to admit it’s been some time since we tended to our old project :D I’m guessing you are (or were) stuck at “To the beach!” with no obvious way to turn your iron ore into bars. I had to look into it since i didn’t really remember how it’s supposed to work, but i found it and have to admit: the quest flow is kinda weird around that point.

minor spoiler ahead ;)

When you have 50 or more iron ore in your inventory (not sold) AND have a reputation level of at least 2 (can be gained from repeatable quests), you will get another questline unlocking and explaining the forge, where you can turn your ore into bars just like you produce goods in the building materials factory :)

Sounds interesting, might keep an eye on your progress ;)

As usual, really appreciate your feedback :)

The broken item should be chocolate which was removed from the game in an earlier fix, we already realized we missed some spots.

As for balancing: can't really argue with you there, it's not something we spent too much time on when trying to get the game to a releasable state. This goes for alle balancing related stuff you mentioned, the trees, worker costs, drop rates and so on.

The workers getting stuck part made me kinda curious, maybe we'll look into that someday.

We're still glad that our little project got people interested enough to email or comment us about it. And all jokes aside: we already decided that IF we ever get our next project to a point where we have something to show (since all this is done in sadly really spare spare time), you're one of the first to know ;)

Super light spoiler: your assumption about your progress in the game is about right, there's not really much left.

Kind regards,
CodeDude

If you are looking for milk for a quest where it is needed: check the shop where you buy your seeds and all that stuff. If you sort by category it's pretty far down there. That's a part of the game where there was much more planned than implemented in the end.

Kind regards,
CodeDude

We've just released an update which should make the process a lot more bearable.

To do so we changed daily quests into repeatable quests, meaning you can expect a new quest some time after you finished your last one (though we're not spoiling how long exactly it takes for a new quest to appear on the bulletin board ;)). Also, you now recieve significantly more reputation for finishing a repeatable quest. (from 2,5 to almost 10 times more, depending on the quest)

This won't make you instantly reach your desired reputation level, but that's the cost of keeping it balanced for any new players who get more quests and reputation from the beginning.

Hope this helps you progress even further.

Kind regards,
CodeDude

Yeah, we possibly found out what the problem was. You may try again with the new update we released a few minutes ago. This does fix the problem i had when testing on windows, so i hope this also fixes yours.

Kind regards,
CodeDude

(1 edit)

Ok now you have to specifiy "offline window", do you mean the offline version we linked to in the description text above? If yes, which operating system are you using? If no, does the online version above work in your browser?

CodeDude

Hi Sunjean,

you should be able to continue the game until the end. We went through all the quests and checked if the are actually doable or if something is missing. Have fun!

Kind regards,
CodeDude

Oh and for bugs regarding quests, items and so on you can report on this version or the downloadable version, it affects both. Only problems regarding controls, graphics or sound could be specific to a certain os or game version :)

Theres actually more broken stuff than you think, the missing icon in front of the "250" is a subtle indicator. We have already fixed this and will release an update soon, but there are some more bugs we want to fix first. I'll keep you updated.

Kind regards,
CodeDude

Hello again,

we just uploaded a new version of the game a few hours ago. You should now be able to chop some hardwood on the first island, although it's still rarer than regular wood. If you happen to stumble upon more roadblocks, feel free to reach out :)

Kind regards,
CodeDude

Hi Sunjean,

first of all, we really appreciate your dedication, 29k wood is kinda impressive 😉We‘re definitely going to look into this problem an get back to you with a fix as soon as possible.

Kind regards,
CodeDude

Hello Kitaaro!

I'm really happy you found your way to our little game and care enough to comment on it :)
Let's go over your problems from the easiest to the hardest to fix.
The help screen you saw at your first start can be accessed via the main menu (by pressing escape or the little cog icon in the top right corner) and pressing "Help", it just pops up at the first time playing so it doesn't annoy you everytime you start the game ;).
If you just want to play the game without any of the other bugs, i strongly advise you to use our non-web release of the game which is available on MacOS, Windows, Linux and Android. Just look for it on our itch profile or the description of the web build.
Also the game is designed for a 1920x1080 resolution, but i guess since MacOS applies UI scaling by default it doesn't fit on your screen. I can confirm that on my 13 inch MacBook.
The web release by itself only exists because some people were requesting it on Discord and isn't as thoroughly tested, it appears as if the scaling isn't working like on all other platforms.
However, there is a simple little hack around this problem: just scale the website via "command -" or the chrome menu.
Sadly, there seems to be a severe problem with our constellation of Godot version and MacOS version of Chrome, hence the WebGL context errors.
It seems to work just fine on Firefox for MacOS or for example Chrome on Windows, so if you'd still like to play it: please try the offline build or another browser (not Safari :D).
Hope i have been able to shed some light on your problems an you give it another try.

Kind regards,
CodeDude
