Nuclear power is a valid and clean energy source; however, it is not an optimal source for the future. For example, nuclear reactors do not generate a renewable source of energy. The article "Why is Nuclear energy Nonrenewable" states, "like any other mineral deposit on the earth, uranium deposit is also finite, unlike wind or solar energies. To make it renewable, nuclear fuel should be able to replenish itself or be available for an indefinite period." In other words, nuclear energy is not a renewable source, as the materials needed to generate electricity are a finite resource. This means that it is not actually a valid energy source to combat carbon emissions, while it may work short term. In addition, an excerpt from "6 Reasons Why Nuclear Energy is Not the Way to a Green and Peaceful World" wrote, " nuclear waste is highly radioactive and will remain so for several thousand years. Nuclear waste is a real scourge for our environment and for future generations, who will still have the responsibility of managing it in several centuries." This quote from the excerpt explains that despite the appealing nature of nuclear energy being a clean energy source, it still generates large amounts of toxic waste. This toxic waste is radioactive and can damage both the environment and people. Overall, despite nuclear energy being a very good source in your game, it is not really a valid source to combat long term climate change.
