Is there a different way? I had many important items at the time of death in my inventory, and if I'll lose them, it would be pretty bad.
I'm not sure if the developers would release a build for Linux, however you can use Steam's "Proton" instrument to play the game. Personally, I have not encountered any bugs or issues with it.
