This was so great to play! Really creative way to use the engine. Definitely deserved first place. Congrats!

The engine was very fun to work with and let me not have to think too hard about actually making a game, but actually let me just be creative and think about design. I definitely think I'll be using it again! There's only a couple things that I'd really want to see in a future update that I don't think would ruin the simplicity too much. These are honestly just personal preferences, if they don't end up fitting the vision of the project, I understand:
1. If NPC sprites could be re-used at least once in each scene. Since there were times when I really wanted to have the "same" character appear in a later area.
2. Maybe 18 variables instead of 9, just to give a tiny bit more space,my game isn't too complicated, it's almost the bare minimum and I used all 9 variables.
3. Maybe a way to disable the level up system or at least the skill selection for certain games. I found that in story moments, it sometimes felt out of place. But honestly that might just be me.
4. On a similar note, I would love it if we could change the tables of the skills that you get when leveling up, even just removing some or adding some from a list of skills. For example I've noticed the Bard skill might make the player think there is extra dialogue in a game where there might not be, or the Necromancer skill might cause unbalanced combat in certain games, so choosing to exclude or add certain ones could be cool.
5. I feel like with an engine like this, dialogue and story is super important, since the engine is more minimal than others. I would love more dialogue branching tools to exist, maybe even just not having to tie extra dialogue to a variable.
6. More tiles would be amazing! I still had a lot of fun trying to get the existing tiles to work for unique things, but more would always be great!
7. I know it's probably intentional to have the whole 3x3 world tiles open to each other, but it could also be cool to be able to turn off and on passing between certain areas, just to not have to spam bushes on one side lol.
That's basically it for now! I really had a blast working with the engine, and I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else made for the 1st Tiny RPG Jam!
