under a specific interpretation if the player is female then this story becomes doomed yuri... jokes aside that literally gave me chills. the dialogue was particularly funny at points (either due to ironic sincerity or moo) and really offset the tone in a good way. throughout the game i was metaphor spotting bc this game just seems like the type that has a lot of intelligent metaphors embedded within it. the poppies = rememberance and giving coins to an old guy to cross a river seems to refer to the funerary practice of putting coins under ones tongue for charon to cross the river styx... so i genuinely thought this game was about suicide by drowning. i'm kind of confused about the statue thing... i guess the symbolism of a hurt, spewing cherub equals broken love? the two coffee cups thing was also so smart. the twist shook me, and i'm still mentally piecing together the full plot. there are places where the writing is literally beautiful, especially the sequence at the beginning. this game was so profound and wrenching and the vibes were just ugh amazing?? i have been forever changed, and i'm going to replay so many just to overanalyze and alternatively drown myself in the anguished splendor of this game. ok my ramble is over
