critter cave is a incremental game. there is a short tutorial when you start a new game that tells you a bit about what you need to do. what did you not understand?

also sorry for the late reply.

Oh, the critters movement isn't rotated by it's rotation so people can move left / right whilst mining easily and i feel like movement being affected by rotation can make it a bit confusing. Thank you for the feedback though

Thanks for the feedback. tonybrattol made the music for our game. What did you find difficult about the movement?

the moth is soo cute, I almost want to let it win lol. my first try the boss felt really easy as they kept camouflaging but then on my 2nd try the boss beat me. this was fun and im looking forward to playing it again if it gets updated.

Nice Idea, I found it a bit hard to distinguish between healthy and infected animals but other then that I found it fun.

thanks for the feedback. It isn't just you, the stone and iron block do look similar.

Im going to try and remake the iron blocks sprite to make it easier to differentiate from the stone block

thank you for the feedback. the visuals were a little bit rushed because we didn't have a 2d artist, I had to try and multitask coding and creating art. I should have time to make better art for the after jam update.

thank you for the feedback. the mining radius was a circle which is what was causing the issue of mining the wrong block, the mining radius has been changed to a line to fix this, I am currently trying to see if I can improve the critters pathfinding.

thank you for the feedback, i have added a label to the ui that will tell you how far you are from the storage. this will be added in the update after the jam ends

Hey, we would love to hear some feedback from you about our game. It's called critter cave and is a mining incremental game where you collect resources and tame critters.

I will check out your game later today.

Thank you for the feedback.

The time it takes to mine a block is based on how big it is (when the mine generates nearby blocks of the same type merge together, their health is added together and you gain multiple blocks from it) . You were meant to be able to carry at least two but I forgot to change a value meaning the carry size is random between 1 and 3 every time you tame a critter.

The theme was going to be implemented through loopholes but we ran out of time. It was planned that the player could find other ways to win battles using items they pickup around the map.

Can't believe I got stuck in the cave again... Time to find my way out.

(gonna check the game out some time tommorow)

Wow... This game is fun.

Was a bit slow at the beginning but after like 2-3 ascensions it speeds up fast.

Wish you could hold down the speed up button but anyways this is a great simple game and definitely suits the jam theme.

Glad you enjoyed it! What part of the game were you struggling to figure out?

This was really fun.

Only wish the game win condition was based on getting it as a upgrade as it was a bit random and a bit too easy compared to the price scaling of upgrades

Other then that it was really good and a cool idea.

I  would look forward to playing this again if you expand it after the game jam (no pressure though).

Oh yeah sorry ,  I forgot to make a tutorial for the battle system. It's a best of 5 rounds and you win a round if you have a higher total dice value then your opponent.  I have added this info to the game page

Thx for the feedback. To get over the high wall you need to place blocks in edit mode.

its there now. might have just been me not seeing it

I was using opera gx. Do you have the setting enabled on the itch page?

The game was fun and challenging. loved the artstyle and the drawings in the background. only issue I have is there didn't seem to be a full screen button. other then that it was great

could you enable the full screen button?

Thanks for the feedback. I will try and brainstorm on how we could make it more visible and give you more of a option to drop the milk and pick up a gun.

There are 3 more levels after the first level. I'm glad you enjoyed the music.

to drop the gun you need to run to where you dropped the milk bottle and run over the milk bottle.

I'm glad you enjoyed it even though you may have become a criminal lol

Yeah. You can thank our story writer paddy for the dialogue.

Thanks for the feedback

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I'll probably wait to see what other people think about the bullets before making any changes but thanks for letting me know.

Glad you liked the game though.

I played the game a little bit and have a bit of feedback.

the music was good though the sound effects were a bit quiet

I feel like the game had too many bullets at the start and the movement controls were a bit weird.

maybe decreasing how many bullets the enemies fire or decreasing the damage they deal could make it better.

I would prefer if the controls were like normal wasd and not turning using a/d but that could just be me.

I also noticed that the game was zoomed in for me even when in full screen but that could just be my monitor.

Thank you. I do agree that the grappling physics are a bit janky but I don't really know what I could do to fix it.

the music should be fixed and actually play now.

The bug should be fixed now

Yeah.. Sorry about the loading times. Not much I can do about them. I'll try and fix the grapple hook bug when I have time.  Edit: I have hopefully improved the loading times and fixed the grappling hook bug

I'm hoping to fix the floating to the roof bug eventually.  Edit: Released bug fixes let me know if it isn't fixed

Where did you get stuck at?
