I love brainstorming ideas.

Maybe some informative things to tell the player why she is packing up and why she needs her friend's help doing so (for physical and/or emotional support)?

  • Is she traveling to a different city/country? World map, globe, bus/plane tickets, travel essentials like toothbrush, passport, camera (her old photo albums), laundry...
  • Is she graduating?  Alarm clock, textbooks, graduation cap, letter of acceptance, school badge, reading glasses, favorite coffee mug for long study nights...
  • Is she tired of city living and seeking new life as a cottage farmer? Folders of bills, potted plants on her window sill (the seeds that made her go for her dream), tiny gardening tools on the wall...
  • Or is she just decluttering to redecorate? Plushies on the bed, sports equipment under the bed, friendship gifts between player and her (souvenir magnets)...

Congrats on starting your own website, and looking forward to your first game!

Always a delight to see you being helpful around the discussion board and constantly creating cute cozy pixel animations. Keep up the good work.

Welcome back! Good to hear that you're recharged and on the go again.

I wish it's easy to figure out how to get a Capcom License to turn this into an official game to sell!

Perhaps pitch a quick demo to Capcom, separate project from this. Like, use the codes from this fan Remaster but polish or upgrade the art, animation, music then call it a Remake by independent game studio.

Just a fun idea to think about.

Hi, thanks for waiting and encouraging me to create more.

I've added water, dirt, sand and bush to this tileset.

Hope that it is easy for you to have fun creating your games with.

If anyone is interested in quality dog animations by other Artists, please give your support to these creatives and check out their many other good works too.

Thank you whoever you may be. Have fun creating your games or just enjoying them.

Please encourage more creatives to keep creating and believe in the value of their work and time.

Thanks for the add-on ideas.

I'll add water and dirt roads to this tileset as an expansion (because I can't come up with enough asset ideas for a separate tileset theme).

You might have to wait for a few weeks though.

I'd need to figure out how to make sure the paths would tile seamlessly around corners.

The portraits adds so much visual fun to the dialogs. Definitely a remake-must have quality-of-life improvement. BoF6 Fredric looks spot-on for Ganer right there, great choice.

How many character portraits would there be in your entire remake?

Thanks for the cheers!

The hanging pendant touch is very charming! Loving how the dialogue box decor instantly brings the whole artstyle together. Looking polished!

Hi alison_jem, only PixelDog Retriever and SillyDog Retriever have completed top down animations.

My favorite pixel dogs by other Artists (I'd recommend checking out):

  1. Seethingswarm: Dogpack (coolest action-packed german shepherd)
  2. DoodleDino: 2D Pixel Art Dogs (elegantly designed and animated dog breeds)
  3. PixelCave: Pixel Doggos Sprites (lively light-hearted dog breeds)
  4. The Game Smith: Faithful Puppy Dog Asset Pack for Farming Games (tiny irresistible, naughty dogs)

I appreciate their attention to animation smoothness and how they've captured the liveliness essence and unique anatomy of dogs in their own ways.

I certainly do, you can reach me at chancekite@gmail.com.

Thanks LMN_0P, for appreciating the improvements that I've poured into this new dog design.

Are there any particular breeds that you might be looking for your game?

Good to read a heart-warming news during such tough times for you and your family! Also, great respects for your amazing file back-up routine. Cheers to overcoming another obstacle in game dev!

These are good solid dog animations! Especially the smooth tail swishes and keeping the Dalmatian spots in sync. Loving the talent, skills and effort poured into these good pups!

Hi Leo Black, hope all is well for you and your client. Welcome back to my online store.

The prices have not increased since we've last spoken, so I am not sure what you mean by inflation.

Apologies, I'm still having difficulty figuring out the topdown animations.

It is taking longer than I can confidently estimate time for so I would recommend hiring a talented or professional artist for speed.

In any case, I've added a small test spritesheet of what I have so far for download.

Great choice, the German Shepherd shall lead the way for this next pack update.

Thanks for appreciating the effort I've put into the art style.

A single dog might take a month to paint and be fixed for errors. Let me know if you'd like any specific dog to be done first.

I've been thinking about adding up down for the basic movements. I can work on it this month if you need it soon.

Indeed, the earlier animated frames do need some fixing up for the next update, especially for the walk and run cycles.  Thanks for the useful feedback.

I would love to see your open-sourced idea come to life on desktops, but it wouldn't be fair to other developers who have already purchased this asset to find that everyone can download it from everywhere all of a sudden.

If you would like, I can offer to collaborate with you for free to create a new dog design to be open-sourced by emailing me sketches or image references of how you might want your dog to look and behave like.

Hi Gatoviejo, yes all the dogs are animated in sideview.

Both dogs done! You can re-download the SpriteSheets now. The Pixel Retriever and Greyhound now come with jump animations.

Greatly appreciate your love for all these doggos, esp for the lonely Greyhound.

Hope to see your works in the future too.

Adding a Jump animation has definitely been on my mind.

I'll start working on it and update this SpriteSheet in the next 3 days.

Thanks for supporting my little dog animation.

The pixel German Shepherd stands at 31 x 23 pixels.

When it moves, it takes a maximum range of 37 x 25 pixels.
