100% agree on everything mate. It is my first game and my first jam, so I wanted to approach the jam by doing something different with no youtube tutorials. The isometric point of view is not optimal for a chess game, but I wanted to experiment with it and see how I could handle it. The leveling system is frustrating too, I also had the same frustration you did. A level selection would have been nice, but I had other things to do, so I wrapped it up like it was.
