Hi everyone,
I’m an indie developer working on a mobile game that combines match-3 puzzle gameplay with tower defense and roguelike upgrades.
The core gameplay loop is:
- Match blocks on the board to charge your main cannon
- Use the charged cannon to attack waves of enemies
- Trigger roguelike upgrade choices during battle
- Unlock elemental cannons such as Fire, Frost, Toxic, and Bolt
- Use upgrades to strengthen both the main cannon and elemental cannons
- Build different strategies each run and try to clear the stage
Outside of battle, players can upgrade the main cannon and elemental cannons to improve their long-term progression.
Inside battle, the match-3 board creates moment-to-moment decisions, while the roguelike choices shape each run differently.
I’m especially curious about the core idea:
Does combining match-3 mechanics with tower defense sound interesting to you?
Would you prefer the match-3 board to feel more strategic, more fast-paced, or more casual?
Any feedback on the concept, gameplay loop, or upgrade system would be very helpful.
Thanks for checking it out!
