Unfortunately in the jam build the sceptre didn't always behave correctly, it could be bugged in some runs.
The sceptre should render the player character invulnerable for the duration of its battery, and leave them exposed to danger as soon as it runs out (temporary invincibility).
We weren't allowed to update the build until the jam's voting period was over, but now you can find a new build that fixes this! ⭐
Thank you for playing! 😊 I agree about E, unfortunately we didn't have much time for playtesting during development, but we're planning a little quality of life update post-jam, with more intuitive controls and default controller inputs, hopefully that will make the jumps to and from yarn less frustrating. 💜🧶
Fun game! It felt very polished for a game jam :)
I think I couldn't progress with the tutorial at some point, but my actual run was smooth and bugless. Like someone else mentioned, I believe a sense of progression would make this game more replayable (and addicting, probably).
Overall, great work! Loved the designs for the tower boy and minions
I loved the art in the main menu and music!
Unfortunately I found the player character a little hard to control, and couldn't progress beyond the third platform with only 5 acorns/jumps available.
I read the note in the game page, but the available acorns don't seem to recharge when I pick up new ones in my first run as well :(
