I’m not saying take away the dialogue regarding his current position. More just add an option where it could be different, based on choices made throughout the game. That suggestion doesn’t take away from current storyline. It doesn’t take away from those who like Asterion’s current role. It just adds more enjoyment for the groups that want it. If that doesn’t interest you, that’s totally fine. That’s what’s great about it, you wouldn’t have to experience that part of the gameplay should it ever be brought to the game. It’s just a suggestion for a change that would make some fans of the game, enjoy it even more.

I agree. Self-insert is indeed tricky to pull off, but the devs have already accomplished this well. At the end of the day, this is currently a self-insert VN. Not every detail that's incorrect breaks immersion, but big story moments like these do.
Certain aspects of position roles can indeed be toxic, for example, such as having Asterion be a bottom simply because of his trauma, submissiveness, and need for guidance. It's ok to have different story scenes based on the user's decision-making throughout the game; it's already been done for other scenes. Best part, it wouldnt change Asterion's dialogue at all.
People have preferences. It's not inappropriate to suggest more inclusivity for a visual novel still in development, based on the user's experience of it. Frankly, the dev team has full control over the way this story is told and eventually released. Whether they consider what their players ask for or not is completely up to them, and the direction they have planned for this VN. Even if they don't add things like player positions, personally, I will still play the VN, as its foundation is strong. The development team shows care & love for this project, and it truly shows.
I played earlier versions of this game in 2024, and I loved it. I recently redownloaded it to replay and experience it, & it's updates once again over the last couple of years. The story is well thought out for an early access game. That still holds true today. This game and its characters have much potential as well as story arcs. Through replaying it, I noticed, it forces you, the MC, are a top. I looked further into it and found that this was intentional. I understand that the developers have a story they wish to convey, and they believe this fits best. However, why have us be the main character, use our name, have our choices that affect the story. This game has adult themes, and as much as I dive into this game, getting lost in the worldbuilding/ thought put into these characters. I'm immediately taken out of it during those scenes. It is no longer "me" in the story. There are ways to correct this that still keep Asterion's "envisioned" story/personality/trauma true, such as a service top. As well as ways to have the MC express their position through, SPOILERS; the drinking game in Chp 17. I understand wanting to build a project as one envisions. I've seen others talk about this online as something important to them as well, fans of the game. The writers suggest compromise as additional scenes, and while I appreciate that, it would still take me out of the story, reading the scenes that are built up to just be incompatible. I really hope this is further looked at and truly taken into consideration. This truly is a game worth the effort. I can not wait to see it completed someday.
