I've had 3 or 4 first playtest sessions canceled due to sicknesses! I'm hoping we can do a session tomorrow, otherwise it might be another month. In the meantime I've been doing prompt jams on BlueSky, which have helped me flesh out thr setting a bit more!

I rescheduled it for this weekend and we've cancelled again. One player is sick and another had their car stolen!

It does sound weird but they have a lot in common! There's a period after the Trojan War where the survivors go and start new colonies - like the move west after the Civil War. There's an emphasis on glory and violence and religion and tragic death.

Plus you get to reinterpret the Gods for the new setting, which is fun - Hephaestus as God of the Railway, for instance.

I've got a stripped down alpha draft of my Mythic Greece / Wild West TTRPG ready to go, and I've started writing setting info. I lined up the very first playtest for our local Texan restaurant, and got Grandma to babysit our kids. Then I got sick and had to cancel the whole thing. Hopefully we can reschedule the playtest for a fortnight from now.

My project is called A Town Called Hubris

It's a TTRPG about Greek demigods in the Wild West, relying on the overlaps between the two genres (more than you'd think!)

I started it about four years ago, but I recently came back to it. I've got enough done that I want to do the first alpha playtest soon. The chief obstacle is time: I have a full-time job and two full-time children. My partner's amazingly supportive but she also has a full time job and a full time creative career...

My goal is to get the text done by the end of the jam. Art and possible crowdsourcing can happen after that.

Thanks! It was a lot of fun. :)
