I made it to the end and I gotta say this game has potential to be extremely addictive with how good it is from the base.
I do, however, have a few mixed opinions on it and some of them are personal preference while others are more related to gameplay:
1. Softlocking (gameplay-wise). I didn't had to reset since I'm pretty good at games related to managing resources and planning money ahead of time, but I can see it's very easy to misplay management and causing the player to reset back to day 1 because it's not possible to generate flowers and pay for enough water—a very brutal situation, but still surprisingly easy to get into for the casual player who invested the wrong money in the wrong place. My suggestion? Change the way water works by either: Lower the price of water, OR make plants not die from thirst—but they won't be able to generate rare materials and the overall production will be slowed down by a lot. It's a way to make the game slower as punishment for poor management WITHOUT causing the player to reset the whole game back to day 1. If none of these sound appealing, then please consider an alternate way of dealing with bankruptcy.
2. Protagonist's Design (personal preference). I'm personally not attracted by stickmen, the idea of a smaller guy owning massive men is VERY appealing to me and I love it... But it's a stickman what we're talking about. I really would appreciate if the prota had an actual design in a game where the plants have a much more interesting design. This is an beta version so I'd understand if the blank slate prota design was a placeholder—a temporary appearance for the mean time—but I find it hard to enjoy the scene if the protagonist is just a gray figure. What I mean is, you did REALLY well with the plant designs to the point the protagonist contrasts a lot with this creative concept. I politely ask that the prota is reworked with better visuals and an actual design. Hell, I would pay for your game if the prota was a scalie!
3. Variety (Suggestion). The only enemy in the game is none other than hung flies, which made me chuckle and I love the silly idea. Now, what if there were "ally/friendly" flying fellas like bees that increase the generation of flowers OR guarantees a rare drop once it "pollinates" the plant: You repel flies, and let the bees get to your plants for benefits like that. As for the shop... I think I would like longer nights? For example, buying coffee increases the duration of the night to farm more materials while buying warm milk reduces the night duration instead—and you can toggle which one you want active in an additional window. As well as a way to toggle which plants I want to appear as "requested" in the bouquet menu, since I might not want more jock flowers past a certain point in the game so I wanna sell my jock plants but without being requested jock flowers anymore if it makes sense. Speaking of toggles, an option to hide the text window during scenes would also be amazing to appreciate the art without words in the way.
4. Another partner (also variety). if Mimi is going to be the bottom then naturally we need another plant that acts as the top... UNLESS Mimi is going to be a switch, in which case it's also perfect because he's so cute! But even then, having quests from only a single character leaves a lot of options which is why having an additional partner could be good for the long quest list. Imagine mimi and another muscular plant partner getting along! THEN they sandwich the protagonist! Like I said, this game has potential to be extremely addictive and I'm really looking forward to stuff like this. Switch characters are so goooood!
And lastly! I think the gallery menu is bugged? I finished the game but every scene with mimi remains locked either way, though this is still a beta version so that's probably a game feature for now. That's all I had to say, thanks for this wonderful beta and have a good day!
