I feel like a LOT of visual novels become more interesting if a character has a unique personality that the person playing doesn't personally align with. Sure, it's fine to go the safe route where the player can personally project themselves into the story, but it's also very fun to play with a perspective different from your own.

I genuinely cried while playing this, I had to watch a playthrough to see the bad end because I stopped after using the match

I was confused at first, but I quickly got the hang of it. I'd like a bit more of a challenge, though :)

(Update: I mean the pets themselves seemed a little fake, I guess? They seemed fabricated, basically. He couldn't keep track of what his own pets were, kept having inconsistencies in his story, and the "animals" were wayyyy too obedient to him. If anyone has any theories, please drop em down in the replies <3)

Idk, Caleb was giving off bad vibes after about 1/3 through his route. Something about him just felt off, while Rei felt pretty normal until the rejection. Even in the good ending, Caleb seems SOOOOO sketchy
