Thought:

Unarmed combat. While Haydee is not particularly combat oriented, this adds the option of last resort/high risk battle. As an enemy closes in, it happens in stages.

  • Approach. The enemy is coming towards you.
    • Weave. Try to dodge. Makes next turn shooting harder.
    • Counter. Prepare to deliver a powerful attack. Works only if the enemy attempts grapple. Harder to hit otherwise.
    • Strike. Jab punch, front kick, etc. Easy to hit but low damage. Will not stop a grapple, and leaves you vulnerable. If the enemy attempts normal hit, it stuns them.
  • Contact. The enemy is right next to you.
    • Shove. Repel the enemy. No damage, but can buy time. May take damage while shoving.
    • Grapple. Get a hold of the enemy and land heavy damage. Failure results in armor-piercing attack from the enemy.
    • Beat. Conventional attack. Instead of extra damage, the special hit defeats the enemy's attack.

also:

armor piercing damage? Even with suit health remaining, the takedown and animation can still occur.

Okay so I'll just say it so nobody else has to.

When's the Backshots DLC?

perhaps inspiration from the Brigador Galinha? A steady repetition of cover-piercing shots that deal good damage, at cost of somewhat lower ammo reserves than conventional machine guns?

thought about how to make the railgun less powerful:

Enemies that have armor somewhat like you? Health with "gates" that block damage from overfilling them. A 100 Health enemy with 20 Gates would only be able to take at most 20 damage in a single hit, so a railgun would need five hits while a gatling gun would be able to quickly dispose of them.

In fluff, could be some form of super-shock ablative armor? It'd make sense since railguns and other super high impact weapons have been deployed.

How... inordinately heavyhanded.

i love you.

...wait, you can intercept the grenades? holy shit.

one of the funniest things ive found is to absolutely satanize them from behind smoke with homers.

Unfortunately a sword doesn't do well against metal boxes. But it does sound like we might see a pilebunker-esque soon. That'll be something to see, I'm sure.

NOISES:

- This game is wonderfully rendered.

- Vibes are immaculate

- Garage is cassette futurism coded, at least the interface is. Wonderful.

- Holy shit MLAA missiles!

QOL STUFF:

- Keybinds. Probably been said by other people.

- Numbers in the menu as an option in settings?

- Turret direction vs reticle position indicator. Maybe a line?

- Maybe make it a bit clearer what environmentals will explode and damage you? Or give a list and images somewhere..

IDEASGUY DRABBLES:

It'd be nice to have something between Death By A Thousand Small Cuts Of 20mm, and Postal Code Killing Cannon. Maybe a nice 50mm stutter, or resurrect the HSTVL's cannon from the dead.

...and perhaps, a straight up 105mm Cannon? :P

As well, what about a couple missile types? HEAT and KE variants. HEAT trades most blast and destruction for single target impact. KE requires precision and timing, gaining damage over distance traveled.

An unfortunately realistic plasma cannon? Exceptional against soft targets. Worthless against armor. The plasma superheats things with water in them to the point of exploding.

I don;t know but for some reason I get a real SFH vibe from this.
