What a well made game!! Every level felt so nice to solve.

The idea is really simple but it's very well executed. And to top it off it looks gorgeous. This easily became one of my favorites.

Really fun game! I had such a good time that I got to the end.

I love how it looks and most of the sounds. However the explosion sound can get really annoying to me since you listen to it so many times. Aside from that, awesome game, really well polished

It's a really simple but very fun idea, very well executed!

I had a bit of a hard time figuring out my position when looking at the reference, like I didn't know if a color was 2 or 3 blocks away or not. Very nice game though, had a lot of fun with it!

Awesome idea! I would love to see more patterns during the fight or more of a use for the dodge. But the execution is great for this jam

What an awesome submission!!! I thought there would only be 1 font for the numbers and was very happy to find more as I progressed.

Everything is really pretty, but I really want to point out that the music is really really nice.

I really like how it looks! At first I was a bit confused about which items where the ones that the list asked for, but after a few tries I figured that grabbing them would show me the label, nice idea!

It would be nice if the game told you how to score more points though, since it's an arcade game I would like to push for better scores but i don't know if there's more to do after completing the list. Even so, congratulations on the game!

Thank you so much for featuring our game in your video!!!

Yeah, that happens in the web versions ( or at the least it hasn't been reported for the windows one yet), and we couldn't fix it in time, but hopefully it wasn't too annoying. Thanks for the comment!!

It happens, some people said that we could make an inverse mechanic: cutting plants, it was against of the whole Growth theme of the Jam, but now that we are not bound to it we'll consider so that this doesn't happen.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such thoughtful feedback. To address a bit of what you said:
-Creating bushes side to side is really hard right now because we were too immersed in other parts of the game (like bugs and collision-based softlocks) and left that unfinished. However, if the game is updated that will be the first thing we'll fix: make horizontal growing easier.
-Growing a tower of bushes is certainly a game plan too good for a big part of the game, while testing it we also noticed it and tried to fix it making more level layouts (ones where it wasn't so easy to come from one column and pass the section), however it clearly wasn't enough and fixing it will be hard.
-Finally the gameplay loop of the game is a bit lacking because we were fixated on the idea of making the game an arcade experience (maybe we messed that up a bit by not putting incentives or milestones for achieving certain heights) for the Jam, the idea of a lineal-level based game was in the pool of ideas at first but was thrown out early because we didn't know at the time how was the game that we had, now that we've played it, maybe we'll consider making it linear, or at least more lineal.

Again, thanks so much for the constructive feedback, means a lot for the team.

Hmm pretty weird, thanks for telling us

(1 edit)

Huh, that's the first crash we've heard of for the Windows version, thanks for telling us, we'll look into it.  What was your score at the top in both crashes? at least an estimate to try to replicate the crash
