Nice start. Guys are good, kinks are interesting, horny and appropriate. But there needs to be some work done on the wordle minigame. My biggest suggestion would be to remove the code that allows doubles. Its almost impossible to guess doubles unless you were lucky, and it just makes smashing your head against the later puzzles frustrating. In actual Wordle, you at least see the word forming which informs you what the doubles might be, but here its random.

Alternatively, adding even a few more attempts or making it so each minigame has a set answer rather than a random one based on your available options.

Another great update! Each one has been fire. Especially love the sub scenes and stuff with this update! The art has also improved and I like that there is more of it especially in the club. I'm also a massive fan of the differences in the maze puzzle between Chris or Blake and would love to see more variation like that where each guy can help you do different tasks in a puzzle.

I really like all of the guys! I'm still holding out hope one (or more?) of them turn out to be cultists  manipulating us to fall deeper into corruption with them or get all the book fragments (if I had to bet, it'd be Blake playing dumb since he knew those two cultists, and I think may have been a willing sacrifice that night in the warehouse). But all their scenes were great!

One thing I think could be improved a bit are the moments the player is caught. In a game of kinky themes and lovecraftian horror, just getting knocked unconscious upon failure seems very... light? I'd like to see maybe game overs/bad ends (but horny, of course!) if the main character fucks up. Like maybe the monster drags the player away to their lair to be their pet. Or the cultists catch and send the player to an eldritch realm of tentacle fucking for eternity (or just makes him a cult toy lol).

This was a good initial release! The sex scenes were really great and I love the corruption vibez of the main baddie. But I'd love to have seen some unique art for the sex scenes and sprites beyond the default (i.e. naked versions for the sexy scenes). The story and concepts are great and the sprites you have are great just really limited.

I'm not talking about the difficulty of the solution/player, but the gameplay mechanics for the puzzle that you have to code.

For example, I've seen a lot of indie devs get burnt out trying to add things like a basic combat system, or a minigame puzzle mechanic, point-and-click mechanics, etc. The time stretches on of them learning, redoing, etc and they lose motivation in their game.

My recommendation is to keep it similar to the church puzzle - dialogue clues and a choice tree. A lot of devs get caught up in trying to add new and unique mechanics and it burns them out because its more work then expected.

I'd give the same advice I always give to indie devs - play it safe. So many games the dev want to add a feature or do something cool, underestimate how much work it is, and then its a year later and they're burnt out.

I think puzzles are a good idea for a lovecraft game. But I'd say keep them simple mechanically. Stuff like dialogue cues in convos having info to a question, branched choices for an important scene. The game in the church is about as complex as I'd go. And keep it limited to when its most important to have them.

Don't spend a bunch of time coding or trying to make a unique minigame, ui, etc. You can always add more to the game, more scenes, features, updated art/ui, etc  after the game's main content is complete. Its a good idea to save any major coding projectings or overhauls until then and apply it to the next game.

Love this update, especially Rez! Hope to see more of him in the future would love a willing scene.

Great work so far! The guys are all interesting, the art is great and the concept both gay AND neat. Hope to see more!!

Characters: 5/5
Plot: 4.75/5
Setting: 5/5
Art: Incomplete TBD

At the time of writing this review, the game is in Version 0.14.1. This game is turning out to be one of the rare treasures in western gay porn games, on the level of Coming Out on Top. It builds a creative setting, and world and characters. It avoids many of the cliches of the genre - to its benefit. It has crafted a unique and interesting setting and leaves the player wanting more with every update.

The Characters

I was completely surprised how charming the characters are in this game. I went into this, as I do all games, expecting to like some guys and hate others. However, over the course of the two chapters currently available, I feel in love with basically all of the guys. They are all worth a shot and are all interesting in different ways. A big reason the characters stand out is because the game does not “lock” you into a route early on. This allows the player the freedom to visit and do every character’s story without restriction. The characters also have relationships with each other outside the player’s influence, which often leads to seeing the characters interact.

For example, I went into this game expecting to hate Blake (the blond “straight boy” LI). However, I encountered him more when interacting with Dante, as they were friends, and these interactions made me like him. It was the same with me for hoodie guy and Oliver. This game also does something interesting in giving side-characters some depth and connection to others. The barista is friendly, has a backstory and other characters talk about him, even though he isn’t a main love interest (so far). There are also teases for several other LI’s coming down the road and/or could be added later when the game is in a more complete state.

The Plot, Art and Sexiness

There are several hours of gameplay included in the current build of this game. The developer has not rushed directly into the porn and has taken the time to set up a mystery, the setting and all the characters. This means unlike most in-development games, it is easy to become invested in seeing where the game will go beyond just getting to the bits where your hand is stroking the sausage. The art in this game is unfinished, particularly towards the start of the game.

Many of the CGs aren’t finished but the deeper into the game you get the better the CG quality is. The dev gives warning for many of the CGs that it isn’t final and just a rough sketch. The CGs towards the end are amazing, even if not all of them are coloured yet. There is no outright sex in the game at the moment, but the developer has indicated it is coming in the updates. There are a lot of tease shots of the guys in skimpy clothing, bulges, or even tasteful nudes. There is plenty of horny CGs even if the characters do not outright have sex yet.

One thing I REALLY have to give credit for is that none of the guys so far are really “vanilla”. The game has several “opt out” scenes set up for certain content (including, but not limited to, watersports and rough sex). There are a variety of kinks among the guys (ranging from public sex, daddies, “straight boys”, etc). It isn’t one of those boring dating sims where all the guys basically have the same basic vanilla sex with the MC and the developer deserves props for that. To me, that is always a sure sign a game is made for a gay audience interested in porn, instead of a female audience to fetishize gay romance.

I've spent the last week going over the game and its great. Love the art, love the plot, love the puzzle. So far I've gotten 7 of the 8 endings (True Ending, Bittersweet, Gutless, Violent, Starface, Beautiful End, Dead End). I can't seem to figure out the last one, I'm assuming based on the choices it'll be based on Jon or Frank? If anyone knows how to get that last one, let me know!

The game is great and well-worth the money for the time and enjoyment. The puzzles are fun (and I really like the new "pick the most relevant clues" mini-game). The characters are all fairly interesting, and honestly even the side characters come off as endearing. Timmy and Chuck were great. All the characters feel distinct and developed by the end. The art and setting is fantastic.

If I had to give one piece of constructive criticism for future games, it would be to add a bit more variety to the routes/plot. It worked in the first game, because that game was focused more on solving the puzzles and this game has opened up a lot more (which is great!).

Some examples of where this game could've had some deviation (again I am missing one ending so I apologize if I accidentally mention it):

  • Depending on early choices, an alternate victim instead of Timmy (i.e. Chuck or Tad). Something that starts a big deviation early on;
  • A "bad end" where Adam ends up kind of following River's trajectory, taking drugs, etc maybe with Timmy and meets the same fate as River;
  • Instead of getting Starface'd if you fail to do well with Evander, if you connect with the Johns they kidnap you  in the bathroom and you have a separate segment where you are captured and have to escape. Perhaps an option where you help Jon and he turns on the others to help you;
  • A Chuck route where you accept the city life and maybe continue being a pornstar (a "good end" that isn't perfect);
  • Some more and/or different scene options for the porn sets. Like instead of the first time you "perform" always being the Jons, different characters show up depending on earlier actions; and
  • A route where you play your cards right and they do offer you to join with different outcomes if you join or not.
(1 edit)

Beautiful seems to be following the True end except you choose Soren as much as possible. It plays out exactly the same as the True End, except Soren survives the mansion. Oh and I think you have to be reluctant during the sex scenes Tad makes you do.

There is a very specific order you have to choose the responses to win, all other variations are a loss. Pay attention to responses that get him hot and bothered without making you give in too much to his dominance.
