I wanted to check out a handful of these games after the Shroomjam but it's really off-putting how a lot of the demos and ads seem to try and appeal to "being Japanese" when there's actually not any meaningful perspective or coherent sentences, just a couple isolated (often English) words as if to say "We want you to think this is a retro game" but only in a superficial way. The pandering is just very distracting from what might otherwise be solid gameplay
