Hey, thanks for the great feedback! I can assure you, some of the things are already considered for future versions we plan to do (yeah we plan to continue with this game, it's been a great learning experience and we've received so much positive feedback!)

  • I agree that "Item Description" should be closer to the center, since you are scanning it with your eyes and therefore you want to have focus on the center of the screen. I'm glad I'm not the only one. For now we had no time to implement better UI/UX for that so we decided to continue like that
  • Thanks!
  • That's a great idea. I also wanted to keep feeling of immersion, so even those UI elements are quite distracting, I will think how to implement it - e.g. a hand note, or just a UI panel :)
  • Right now there is no end goal, so consider it a sandbox. We are currently discussing the progression & story for the game as what would be truly interesting. If you have any ideas feel free to share.
    • As an example we want to introduce stories and potions that will affect environment - for example village houses will change based on certain actions, or it gets more darker depending on what you are doing
  • Warding is protection, Soothing is heal. Perhaps we should change the naming to be less abstract and more tied to the effects? E.g. "Healing potion of Protection" or "Sleep potion of love" :D
    • They accept it regardless, but if you give them perfect potion (it's a bit bugged now but still works) - they will give you a proper response.
    • We planned to do the "hard no" side effects. Like "Potion of strength, but everyone falls in love with you" and the customer would mention that he doesn't want that. But once again, no time

I hope you liked the game and thanks again for a big review! I'm glad it finally worked for you to play it

Thanks!

I would highly recommend the desktop version if you are on Windows or Linux (Linux Mint tested).

Perhaps the cursor was not locked in? There is a small note in description regarding it. If the cursor is visible - press ESC to open the menu -> go full screen mode -> close the menu with your cursor

Let me know if that helps.

Oh, that's weird. What platform are you on? Web version or desktop?

The movement is WASD, not the arrow keys, just in case. I'd be happy to resolve the issue for you

Thanks for great review! Glad that you figured out how to do that haha

Yeah the potions system is somewhat unfinished unfortunately, it's fully random to be honest, therefore sometimes it very hard / impossible to get the right potion ;( But if you give them wrong potions, or the same potions there are fun interactions!

The cat and other assets are not made by us, all credits are in the credits menu entry, so you can check them out!

Hey, very nice game. I expected nothing from first time participation, no web build & solo developer, but it looks so insanely polished and well thought. I really like that it is challenging and has little mercy to slow fingers.

Appreciate the music and visuals, they are super good as well!

Thanks for feedback! There was no time for tutorial and everything except for the first customer was randomly generated based on the ingredients and potions we have defined. Unfortunately, in this state of the game some adjectives are also impossible to get, so sorry for that :(

But I did in fact craft a perfect potion for the person. We wanted to include "acceptance criteria" / "drift" and "disliked effects", as well as taboo for some ingredients.

I love it. My favorite game in the jam so far, I really wish you to win. High level of polish, the art is beautiful, sound is amazing, feels like a release game already to be honest. Great variety, good balance. If this was a paid game - I would buy it.

10/10 highly recommend

Super good entry! Thanks for publishing, love it!

Papers Please! with fruit. That wasn't on my bingo card for this theme but it's very lovely

Love how thought out and polished this game came out, great job!

Nice game with simple mechanics, yet the control make it truly a fun experience :D Juggle the throw and grab mechanics to min-max your pathing, yep, nice

Nice and simple game, audio makes it shine!

Thanks! Yeah time pressure & randomization made it not so clean and some effects are still not implemented, unfortunately, but we are already thinking of pushing this game forward post game jam

Nice! Music and SFX blend in really nicely in my opinion, I only wish I could spray those intoxicated people a bit more before running out of water at the start

Cat is not the only living thing you can put in the cauldron :D

Thanks for kind review

Nice entry and it's easy to get into the game as you get more colors to experiment with :)

Yeah it's best experienced in the desktop version, web always comes with its downsides! Thanks!

Nice entry, simple and charming art :)

Ahh, I see. It was not really obvious for me what to do with the warts at first, but you are right it's fine! Thanks, I edited my comment to exclude that

Great entry, survivor like game with defense mechanics, very nice use of assets and really good polishing with effects and everything. I would love to see it being more challenging, because I could simply AFK and get to the end.

Really nice game, we have a similar concept but with more "randomness" but your approach with customers and their orders matching exactly is great.

Really fun! 10/10

P.S. I couldn't open it from Linux though, had to test on Windows computer.

Really nice art & concept, SFX is also a cherry on top. The gameplay loop is simple yet fun!

Cool concept, as others said UI was a bit tricky to get working, but with arrow keys on keyboard I could make it into fullscreen and it was fine. On my first attempt I think I softlocked myself by not buying brewing pot or oven, so I had to restart.

Otherwise pretty cool and nice, especially considering it's done by 1 person

Yeah! Did you realise you can also grab the customer?  :)

Super cute and simple! Love it

Nice idea, visuals and audio are very clean. The controls are not intuitive though and could use some polishing. Unfortunately I couldn't progress further as it's just not obvious what to do and how to do :/

The theme is 100% hit. Goblin is cute - consider freeing him!

Very nice looking game, the stylistics and art style are really well made.

I had some issues with the customers crowding a bit too much, as well as understanding how to get the things brewing, so by the time I finished my first order there were 5 other customers cutting the queue lol

Thanks, we liked it too, credits go to radiergummi and his Koi Cat 3D Model (also mentioned in credits)

This is super cool, 3D graphics, animations, sounds, the effects.

But I am a CAT! Is this why the controls are a bit weird? I have paws after all...

Really original game, but maybe 9 steps is a bit too much in the very first introduction haha :D

I like the idea and the visual style, it clearly shows you've put a lot of effort into it. Wish it had some sound. Controls are a bit confusing, but overall not difficult to get a grasp of

That's super fun, I really love the visuals and sound effects!

Very nice visuals and music, the UI and dialogues are really good too. I wish it had a bit more depth with the gameplay though

Thank you!

Really appreciate the kind words, it makes me smile. There is already some ongoing work for the future of this game, to make it fully playable experience but don't expect anything huge, there are more jams to join and learn more!

Thank you very much, will definitely update it later on :)

Thanks :)

There was supposed to be more to the game, but unfortunately haven't had enough time and experience to put it all together

Special thanks to @Rombikro for level design, @Xandruher for the main character and @Jamie for the enemy. Definitely go check out their works

Windows. Web might be added later if Support allows us to!
