Hey, hope you guys are all doing well in the Jam 😁
We published our game ″Ray″ a little rushed due to the deadline and we ended up with some silly critical game breaker bugs in the game...
Well the good news is that we fixed them! They weren't that complicated to fix but now our question is that can we publish a patch?
For more context these are the bugs that we fixed in the game:
1-Our save system wasn't working at all because of one little line of code .
2- We had camera double flopping problem in our levels which usually led to unplayableifying the game for that session ( imagine that happening plus the broken save system, yes you need to start the game from the very beginning... )
3- We somehow ended up with 130MB of shadow maps ( that game itself without them is 70MB ) and it TANKED performance. On 3070 I was getting around 100fps in 1080P... We completely fixed that and it's now pretty well optimized. ( If you want to know, now it runs 165fps 1080p in like 20% GPU usage )
4- We also added a ″Reset Level″ and ″Go to Main Manu″ button so if the camera flopping happens again there is something to damage control that...
I really appreciate it if someone can help us to know that can we publish the patch on the itch.io for the game jam without violationg the game jam rules ? In my opinion they are critical bugs but we are just not sure...
And Again thank you for reading all of this and helping us out, have a great day :)
Hey! Thank you so much for your kind comment :)
Yes unfortunately due to the Game-Jam deadline we could not provide the tutorial levels that we planned for.
Since we cannot update our game during the jam, we are making a YouTube tutorial video for the game so hopefully you and other players can have a better experience playing the game :)))
