Oh dang! I can’t replicate this bug, but thank you for posting your solution for others that may have issues with the patcher!
Patch only works for paid itch version! I will upload a patcher that works for steam, soon

If you buy game here on itch it is in the windows download folder. I have not tested patch with other versions, sorry!
