Enjoyable but it has some major flaws. For starters I got really lost. While having this game be open world was ambitious for a game jam, I feel there wasn't enough clarity on where to go. I thought the story started of phenomenally but by the 48th hour it felt like it dragged on and wasn't going anywhere till the 130th hour mark. While I think breaking the rules was rather fun and had good game feel thanks to the sound effects and very subtle screen shake, I do feel that this positive was ultimately dragged down by the overwhelming microtransactions. I feel you should consider lowering the price of them. I'm also not sure why at some point the game made me give my social security card number but I gave it and hopefully it unlocks something cool. Overall, a good experience with some major gripes here and there, and it felt a bit to similar to the 2017 summer blockbuster Garfield's Gang War before Christmas.
Cool concept. I like how rather than the whole game being themed around the game jam theme of strange machines, you focused on exploring that theme more narratively. I liked the writing as well. Wish there was something to hook me gameplay wise but over all the characters, the music, art, even the font created an atmosphere I really enjoyed.
Definitely a shame it didn't get complete, but I still enjoyed what I played! I really like the concept of nature meets machine and I think that's a really cool and interesting way to explore the game jam theme. That especially showed with the art through the cool trees. I really liked their design.
I love the visuals! This game is such a vibe. Really liked the audio changes when you drink the poison. It adds alot of tension. I do kind of wish that despite there being notes that there was a ui visual for the potions you poisoned, but then again maybe losing track of what you poisoned can make the game a bit more intense. Overall I really liked it!
