I love the character art and designs, they're gorgeous! Unfortunately, the game is quite buggy right now, and seemingly not completable in its current state.

-The Browser embed is bugged, just referring to the easyRPG error screen. The download seems to function fine.

-The hallways in the cave are actually two tiles wide, allowing you to skip the statue puzzle. Likewise, if you walk around  the NPC and talk to them from the right, the cutscene softlocks when they're supposed to jump.

-Finally, upon opening the iron door, the cutscene inside quickly softlocks. My guess is there's supposed to be the fairy or someone else talking to the NPC, but they don't appear?

I'd love to finish this if it gets patched, because what's here is quite promising! I'm particularly fond of Orange Soda.

For reasons I don't fully understand, I now have a grudge against Europe. 10/10

call of duty is probably more fun than being a death angel anyway

i guess

Cool concept! My first run through was successful. I bought the fighter gear, cyclone strike, and boosted my ATK, DEF, and Agility to 20 (and my HP and MP by 5). I'm glad I saved my potions and ethers for the dragon, which made him pretty manageable.

The humor was great, particularly the ending. I did admittedly do a lot of save scumming to make it to the end, particularly through the penultimate room.

Wow, this was absolutely fantastic! Possibly my favorite game of the whole jam. I loved it. I'd love to play more games with this kind of system, so I guess I should check out Deep Rune huh?

Maybe the hardest game in the whole jam. You can't even beat it! But I had fun regardless.

Even as someone with very little familiarity with the source material, this was an absolute delight to play.

Managed to win on my first try! Getting Reflect from a wizard protected me from all of the boss's attacks, so I just Normal Shark Bited her to death. Great game, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Oh right, a couple bugs I noticed: You can switch characters during the cutscene at the town, which looks silly. Also, at one point while switching to bypass the barrier, I somehow wound up in the forest while walking at the slow overworld speed, which could kill a run if you're unlucky enough.

Hehey, I finally beat it! It required starting a third playthrough, but I eventually figured it out. I'll put my spoilery thoughts through rot13.com in case anyone doesn't want to be spoiled. Rest assured, though, this game is very good and definitely worth playing. But be warned, it IS very hard, and I'd call the final boss outright unfair. My advice would be to examine the environment of the game closely, and try using your power in different locations.

Thanks for the advice. I did miss that last thing you mentioned, which couldn't hurt. I doubt I have the resources to find it without doing a third run, which might be necessary. Before resorting to that,  I suppose I'll try and survive long enough to get to phase 2 before using the big heal.

Alright, I started the game over, this time with the goal of making it to the final boss with Quiet Memory intact. On two particular attempts, I managed to do a couple rounds of Serenades and Shatter Stars before having to use the full heal. I then survived long enough for the boss to start casting spells. I took this as a sign to deflect them with Soul Mirror, which worked twice. But then the boss switched back to regular attacks, which targeted Sky 100% of the time. Even surviving several rounds after that, the boss still never died.

I'm curious how much health she has. The Quiet Dream seems 100% mandatory, and even then the fight is heavily RNG dependent. The only other healing item I imagine could help would be the rare berry, because every other item I found only heals about the same as the boss's attacks (who moves more often than you, even after the agility fruit). I definitely get the impression I'm missing something, so I'm open to hints.

Really cool game! Given that I've spent more time on (what I assume to be) the final boss than the maximum estimated completion time, I'm guessing I'm missing something. Even going in with full HP/MP, I still don't stand a chance. The best chance I can see is using coffee ASAP and then spamming Soul Mirror every turn to maximize our longevity, but that requires perfect RNG and still probably doesn't get very close, given how little damage output that gives compared to using the attacking spells.

Perhaps I was intended to save the Quiet Dream until this fight. Maybe another time I'll start a new run and try to speedrun to the tower while maintaining as many healing items as possible, but even surviving long enough to use them feels dubious.

But, I don't want my skill issue to take away from the fact that the game is really good. It's just not in the cards for me to beat it with my current understanding of it.

"Playtime: 20 minutes to 50 minutes to the rest of your life, depending on your dedication and difficulty."

I get it now.

Beautiful game. 5 stars.

Once I got the hang of it, I realized my town RNG was pretty lucky. Very easy access to it, as well as the potion shop, weapon shop, and cat (who I never ended up buying from because immediately after I discovered it I beat the game). Here's how my game went:

I found a chest guarded by four skeletons. They absolutely rocked everyone except Karin, who outlasted them with Absorb Life and gained a bunch of XP. Conveniently in a chest was an amazing sword for her, so she lugged around the party's corpses until I found the lady selling feathers. Wandered around, eventually getting an even better sword for Karin from a random enemy drop. Gave every accessory and favorite tab I found to Karin, eventually opened the World Bangle chest and beat up the dog. By the time I made it back to the dragon, Karin was level 8 (everyone else level 7), and Absorb Life largely carried that fight to victory, as well. Turns out her name is Karin because she's Karin the team on her fuckin back

Absolutely incredible execution, you found a way to turn the jam's limited layout into a sprawling dungeon maze. I never did find the beach, I wonder how I'd have fared against the kraken...

I really liked this one. The original art is extremely charming, and has inspired me to try making my own if I make another game.

The king may some day regret having dropped that gold bar down the well...

Final score of 9. If we're going by golf rules...that still isn't very good. But I got em all

I really liked this one, the writing is great. Is there any actual use for the 100 bucks you get from performing the ritual?

This game has a really interesting concept! Using your character’s mouth and stomach as your inventory and attack is really cool. Unfortunately, I hate how it controls. It reminds me of playing Terraria before you automatically walked up ledges, if pressing the movement button twice also sent you flying in the opposite direction.

My list of accomplishments: Crafting boulders, flesh lumps, and cloth, none of which I discovered any use or crafting recipe for; getting to the town (past the incredibly frustrating water section) and defeating a "great enemy", which for the sake of my sanity I'm going to pretend was the final boss; making it to the far left of the map and getting blocked by an invisible wall.

I also made it to the graveyard. I'm pretty sure one time I even made it to the cave before the sniper shot me, but then he shot me anyway. At least twice I managed to perfectly dash up the hill on every jump without ever bouncing off, and still got shot. Clearly there's something I'm missing. Perhaps I can craft cloth, boulder and flesh together to make a bulletproof vest. Either way, my finger now has a blister on it, so that's probably where I should call it for this one. Cool concept, but I struggled to enjoy it very much.I'm going to recommend to my friends, though, who I think would love it. EDIT: oh one thing I forgot to mention. The music is great. I especially liked the fortress/castle track.

Got the chalice ending, the shadow ending, the hero ending, and the cursed chalice ending. I like that the only way to recruit the Navigator is to murder at least two people. Great little game.

Seems cool, but I got locked trying to fight the supermarket manager because it says it's missing cobblestones1.png. EDIT: I went into the files and just copied/renamed one of the other backgrounds to force it to work.

Cool little game! I really enjoyed it.

This was fun! Cute writing. The ending was very interesting, though the fact you can open the menu after and play the funny sound effect is pretty silly.

thank you women

Just randomly decided to play this from the Palestine bundle. It was great! Immediately hooked me in, and I powered through the whole thing in one sitting, despite taking quite a bit more than three hours lol. I loved the main characters, and the writing was excellent. I would love to see another game in the series, even if the ending leaves it a bit unclear if such a thing would be possible.

A shitpost meme of a game that somehow wound up making me cry laughing several times and has a genuinely compelling story and incredible gameplay. I only have two complaints, both of which are SPOILERS FOR THE VERY END OF THE GAME:

-Those spiders are hot garbage. I get that they were in the First and that that's the point, but I don't care. Fuck 'em. Not worth it.

-Dead's epilogue doesn't change when you have him Sacrifice in the final fight.

Even so, this game is excellent, and I'll likely play through it again in the future to try out the other party members. I'll probably just skip the end.
