I agree. That has been fixed. Updated version of the game will be launching tonight or tomorrow.

Yes, exactly. I had the wife test out the game in the early stages, she was interested but had no idea what all the terms meant since she's never read a cultivation novel. The Codex came from that conversation. Still needs some work.
The layers are stages. I might rename later on.
I'm hoping to maintain the feel of the novel with more story details and options as the game gets bigger.

There will be more background options available in the future with an auto change feature based on realm, disabled through the settings.
A lot of your concerns and questions are addressed in the next update.
I'm glad you specifically mentioned cultivation techniques. There is a "hide locked items" option on the cultivation page. I'm thinking it would be best to have it already selected when starting the game, with the option to see all if interested. Food for thought.
Overall maybe I did add too much of everything that I enjoy, all at once.

I was anxiously awaiting you scrolling to the Glossary section of the Codex in your video. A lot of questions are answered there. Although wordy, it provides the base knowledge needed. Better approach might be to incorporate it into the gameplay, food for thought. Maybe both.
