Hey everyone,
glad that so many people again decided to join JagJam and create some new great games for the Atari Jaguar this year! It is much appreciated! I have also seen some of you have posted about their ideas, development and what they think can be done, and I already had a great time reading that. Makes me want to fast forward and see the games now, but that's not how it goes :-D Thanks to those of you who dared to share :-) !
With "Where is it?" and "Shape Shooter 2000" this year will also see at least two (maybe even more? :-) ) physical game releases from JagJam 2024, published by Songbird Productions. For me personally, it's very rewarding to see these games actually come to life in a sense that lets me put them into my shelf and for others to discover when browsing for Jaguar games and see what's out there. After all, the more people discover the Jaguar and actually start to like it because of creative and nice games being made for it, the better it will be received. And hopefully the scene will grow a bit more, little by little, thus making it more interesting for you to program games for it, and so on. But the Jag scene is still a very niche one, no doubt about it. Having said that, thank you all again very much because you did and still do this! You rock!
Take care everyone!

Cheers everybody! Results are in from all three judges and we have a winner: Shape Shooter 2k. Now since this is my first time wih a jam here on itch, I am unsure of how this is reflected in the result page, maybe I wanted too much with such a detailed list of criteria. I will however follow up with an e-mail detailing some more aspects and info to you who took part in this jam. Thank you so much for your time and effort! It was a blast to see what you all did here and it is amazing to see the variety of games you delivered.
Wow, five new Jaguar games in our first try to get something going with a game jam on this console - this is amazing! Thank you all so much! Even better, some of you never did anything on the Jaguar before this! We certainly hope you liked the experience and will return for another game soon! As for us, now the judging will commence. We estimated that it will take one month to discuss the games and place our votes here. Please have a little bit of patience if it should take a week or two longer, as this is a first for us as well - you will get informed in any case here! Still can't quite believe what happened. You guys are truly amazing! Again a great thank you to everyone who participated!
October is closing in and we are excited to see that 13 people have joined so far! As of today, only one entry is visible, but I know that several more are in the works ... so Cheers to everyone who is making something! We really look forward to the game entries you will share within the next month with the community. <3
Hi there and thanks for reaching out! Great to read that you are working on something, and amitious sounds good, looking forward to that! :-)
About your question: The rules state that the game has to be finished by the time the Jam will be over. However, that does not mean that you have to release the full game on that very same day, but at least the judges would need to have that version by then. For that, just reach out for contact info when the time has come (you may of course also do so before), send it over and I'll sent it to the other two. Hope that helps.
Cheers! Screenshots look nice! Tried it out on my Jaguar, but the screen froze after the small logo animation sadly, so I was unable to play it.
