This is a sad day on itch.io, I loved buying games on this platform. I own(ed) Business is Loving on itch.io, and now I will no longer have access to free updates to the game I bought. This is very upsetting.

Western culture often criticizes games that involve violence, claiming they incentivize harmful behaviors, yet it allows the creation and distribution of violent media, such as those depicting murder. However, when it comes to sensitive themes like wincest and non-consensual sex, Western culture typically bans such depictions in games. In stark contrast, Japan permits these themes within its gaming industry, without the same level of scrutiny or restriction. Despite this, Japan remains one of the safest countries in the world, with crime rates significantly lower than those in many Western nations. This paradox challenges the common argument that games featuring violence lead to real-world aggression. If you compare the cultural standards of Japan and the West, you see that the concern about violence in games loses its credibility when you look at Japan, where such content exists but doesn't appear to have the same negative societal impact. Creativity should not be bound by the limitations of Western culture. Japan embraces a broader scope for artistic expression, showing that the boundaries placed on creativity in the West are unnecessary. Don't let Western culture limit your creativity—there's an entire world where artistic freedom thrives without the same restrictions.
