sometimes all the sounds slow down on the windows version

This game's writing is awesome. 10/10 sass and self-aware jokes that had me chuckling and smiling the whole way.
Also I know that the stuff in the tool closet during the repair minigame are placeholders, but honestly they feel very in place to me due to the games humor (just like the "this is a toggle" toggle)
also small bug report: you can access the door to the right hallway from the catwalk (this occurred in my game after the ladder was placed there). the left hallway door is fine.
So I was installing the patch like Ive done for the previous versions (deleted/moved the stuff that the readme file told me to), however when I started the game I got this error.
I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

probably just going to reinstall the game in its entirety, but I figured I would post this anyway just in case.
HELP I CAN'T STOP PETTING NOODLES
seriously though this game is amazing (and mega disturbing in all the right ways that still has me laughing)

thanks so much for the explanation (now I know to wait until further updates to try it again)
also this game among those amazing gems I find here on itch.io that are just such amazing games beyond just being h-games. this especially is with the character dialogue (amazing work with the trickster btw I absolutely loved the the writing for him and his mania) and the character banter is what makes this game such an amazing treat.
So when I use Drift at the college courtyard it says "its almost feels like there's something nearby but muffled. its too weak to drift to, though" is this actually something accessible or is it for future content. wanting to ask so I don't spend more time trying to figure it out than I already have.
keep up the great work!
So I just started the game and there's two things I noticed. the first is that the sound seems to be in stereo but the direction of it changes depending on where you move (this would normally make sense except that the music in game is this way) the second is that all of the character names are missing (the npc's all say their name is [selfname] and my character says their name is [playername]. I didn't see an option to make a name for my character.
