You are correct that the gameplay of Tetris does not contain or depict any complex social themes or ideas. (I could see a very weak argument that the core concept of order and organization might abstractly be unrealistic lol just kidding) however the development and release of Tetris is interesting and ab solutely was influenced by politics that are still relevant today.
