thank you so much for the kind words and feedback!! yea it seems like the auto-skip is causing more issues than intended, so i just posted an update that removes them.

- really delightful art and a fun read! the sprites + designs are sooo expressive and probably my favorite part. the plot reminds me a bit of jennifer's body and it was fun seeing emily make things messier.
- since there’s a lot of characters it was a little difficult to keep track of who was speaking at the beginning, but i got into a groove toward the middle. i think it would’ve benefitted from some indicators like color coding the names based on design, etc.
- the dialogue / banter feels natural & true to a college theatre friend group!
i think you'll get more plays if you add more screencaps of the main gameplay + a word count! a lot of people put off playing things if they're not sure how long they are. i checked the script in renpy's lint function and it's about 28k words.
i’m a big last unicorn fan (i sewed amalthea’s dress once...) so this was such a treat!! lovely prose and designs. playing off of the unicorn mythology / using a maiden to capture one is such prime yuri material.
while coming to comment on this this i accidentally searched “to my only desire” in google instead of itch, and it was very cool reading about the matching tapestry. checking out the postmortem now for all the other historical details!
thank you for the kind words! the note would've shown up if you selected "pre-puberty", so you would select it if you haven't gone through puberty yet. most people go through puberty by age 18, hence the "why are you playing this" note. there are different requirements to pass the beighton scale portion of the screener, depending on if you've gone through puberty or if you're older than 50.
thanks so much for reading, i'm glad you enjoyed!! i'd defer to your doc's experience; the clinical criteria isn't perfect (they're updating it later this year) especially the beighton scale. it doesn't check common problem areas like shoulders, ankles, and hips so some docs have separate checks for those too. without an actual genetic test for hEDS yet the presentations are pretty varied
OLDER WOMEN YURI!!!!!!!!!
soooo moody and atmospheric! i love historical works and collage so this was such a treat to read. the prose naturally plunges me into the time and place; i immediately started reading in a prairie accent in my mind like a good early 1900s novel.
the collages are masterfully done; i especially like the newsprint filter treatment used. i also really liked the little “vignette” pages that split up the chapters and further set the scene. i really really like the box indicators for who’s speaking! i haven’t seen that before but it works really well for the style, and i could see it from my periphery while reading the text box.
i do think it would benefit from a little more foley or sound effects indoors in some scenes, but it being mostly silent made it easy to focus and read. the library of congress would likely have a very fitting public domain song for the menu or something.
since i was playing on instant text, the {nw} tag made me skip a couple lines where characters got cut off as a heads up!
absolutely lovely and engaging read, will be recommending to friends!
-that is an INTRO. what a hook!! the visuals married with everything is stunning
-i love the push / pull throughout the whole piece while still having a very obvious power imbalance. such fun and playful banter!! and the chess to give the illusion of being on more equal footing… so cool
-i can taste all the words in my mouth in the chess part. really yummy prose and the music felt like it had just as much bravado.
i'll be thinking about this one for a long time, really inspiring to get weirder w/ renpy
thank you so much for reading!! the switching bodies line was from me and Yea...... when my body first started falling apart with increasing speed i felt a constant pit in my stomach wanting to check if things were normal so badly. i started reading a lot of body swapping fiction especially with ill characters at the time ;-; i think getting a really strong body for 1 day would really motivate me to work out once i swapped back LOL
really, really humbled and grateful. thank you everyone who's shared and played and said such kind words, i really wasn't expecting anything close to this, much less within the first few days. i've teared up like 20 times over the past 48 hours. i'll try to get to replying to everyone but please imagine me as a sopping wet tearful beast reading your comments.
this concept meant a lot to me and i'm incredibly relieved that it's landed with people ;-; giving everyone a big hug
ALSO PLEASE TRY THE SCREENER!! i'm really curious if anyone gets a surprise hEDS or HSD diagnosis from this! i put more code in that thing than the actual vn and the full screening is like 4000 words on its own
