It's possibly related to not being able to run or not finding LOTMS_PD1\vss_transition.mkv, which is a video it plays after selecting a new game.  Either try re-extracting the downloaded zip file, or try double-clicking on LOTMS_PD1\vss_transition.mkv and see if it plays.  If it doesn't you might be missing a codec.

If you can't get it working, you aren't missing much :)  This was just a proof of concept I worked on a few years ago.

Chrome was automatically closing the tab when I tried to download the assets from the youtube description in the tutorials.  Instead I copied the link and pasted it into Edge, youtube came up with a page 'Are you sure you want to leave YouTube?'.  I clicked on 'GO TO SITE' and it downloaded the zip file.
