He did, and publisehd on steam

Congrats, Doug! This game is really neat, I would call It an action puzzle. Looking forward to It.

Very nice for casual mobile game, I guess. It's very addictive to start and keep playing, but not to come back, I guess.

Holly shit, this game is so tense! It's so much more fun than 90% of master system, atari, gameboy and NES games combined.

way too long dev log on this page, I guess.

Nice game, a bit of puzzle bobble with the spin twist. Maybe more dopamine triggers and more visual feedbacks and effects? I enjoyed trying to hit using walls, It felt amazing to hit a perfect shot using the wall.

woah, wtf, this game is freaking awesome! I always loved to play support characters, but I usually don't have friends to play online with, so I usually ended up with tankers or rangers to solo play. This game is very good, I really felt that spark to want to play more and more - I'm hooked! Please, definitely keep building, It's freaking awesome, It's now greater than you, you owe It to the community, you gotta finish to make gaming history! Good luck!

was a bit annoyed when I saw 1/20 papers I had to shred with no reason whatsoever.

oh, I see! I’m sorry for the ignorance. Thank you for the clarification.

I came here when I saw the Petal 2 launch. I just wanted to play a single match against a CPU to get to know the game, why not? Bit crazy to make the game to actually start. When I got to play 1v1 vs me, after creating a lobby, I messed around a little bit and with no tutorial/guided start, I got a bit confused about what was I supposed to do. beautiful game tho, It seems very polished.

The cutscenes and art style are top-notch—absolute stunners for this aesthetic! The backstory is super concise, logical, and funny too. Plus, the menus and navigation are crystal clear.

The core game mechanic is extremely creative and a lot of fun. At first, I thought, 'Oh great, do I have to learn a whole new set of chess rules from scratch?' But it started out with just pawns, which made the onboarding super smooth. I managed to pick up all the mechanics naturally as they were introduced, one by one.

My first real challenge was the Spain level with the cow/horse piece. Honestly, it would've been easier to just say it moves like a chess knight, because the art made it look a bit more complex than it actually was. That level was a bit of a hurdle, but I really enjoyed overcoming it.

However, right after that, I hit the monkey level, and it just completely killed my enthusiasm. I ended up closing the game and didn't feel any desire to go back and tackle that challenge.

Overall, huge congrats on the game, though!

P.S. Quick tactical thought on the 4v4 pawn race mechanic: since it's a symmetrical, perfect-information abstract game on a tight board, does Player 1 always have a built-in mathematical advantage? Felt like going first dictates the whole tempo.

Picked this up because the art style caught my eye—I'm actually one of the few weirdos who isn't really into platformers like Celeste or Hollow Knight. Naming it Alpine made me think it was going to be a climbing game where you mess around with ropes and clip-ins while progressing, though!

I did enjoy the puzzle elements, but once I got past the first door, I just didn't feel any real motivation to keep going. The gameplay loop didn't give me that dopamine hit or make me feel compelled to repeat or push further.

Still, cool aesthetic and props to the dev. Good luck with the game, thanks!
